Motoko Aoyama: This is my new fic and it talks about the past of all the main characters of Love Hina, even Haruka and Seta! I hope you all will enjoy it. Since this is still experimental so please review to tell me that you are reading this and both positive and negative comments are welcomed. If no one reviews, then I will take this fic off! Okay, so let's start.

Background: Haruka got married with Seta and is leaving with him to the next excavation site. She leaves the full responsibility of Hinatasou to Keitaro, as well as giving him the diary of Hinatasou that contains the memories of all its residents, be it Keitaro himself whose past meant more to him than his own future, or Kaolla who tends to forget what she did in the morning.

Disclaimer: I don't own LH so don't sue. This story also contains fragments of the LH story that has to deal with the past of the LH characters so don't sue me for that either! However, most of this story is from my own creativity, so please do not take any part of it without my consent (as if anyone would like it... oh well).

HINATA MEMORIES

Prologue

It was Haruka's last night in Hinatasou. The next morning she would be leaving with Seta for their honeymoon, or more accurately their next excavation project. Though the farewell party was still raging on downstairs, Haruka paid no attention to it as she took deep sips of sake under the moonlight. All her life she had been living at Hinatasou, and it was finally the time for her to leave. It was a magical place full of dreams and fanatasies, but no matter how hard you tried, there would be a time when you had to leave this place that you loved so much. The breeze blew Haruka's hair from side to side as she sat silently on the roof looking down at the glowing city lights below her. Tomorrow would be the day when she left this life-long home of hers, when she had to give up all that she owned in the inn.

" Haruka-obasan," Keitaro called as he approached the roof. It was late at night and everybody finally fell asleep. Seta-san and Sara had already returned to sleep in the van so Keitaro came up to tell Haruka.

" Who is an old lady?" Haruka warned, a bit too tired and occupied to beat his nephew up.

" Gomen. Seta-san told me to tell you that Sara-chan and he returned to the van. He wanted to ask you if you would go with them."

" Tell that baka that I will meet up with them at the airport tomorrow. I want to take a last look at this place before I leave."

" Alright," Keitaro said as he turned to go back down the stairs.

" Wait," Haruka called. Keitaro turned around to see Haruka gesturing him to sit beside her.

" Yes, Haruka-obasan," Keitaro said as he took a seat beside Haruka on the roof.

" You want a good beating, don't you, Keitaro?" Haruka asked in a cold tone.

" NO! GOMEN!" Keitaro yelled as he waved his arms around.

" Don't worry, I have no intention of beating you up on the last night I spent here in Hinata City. It's just that I have something to talk to you about."

" Talk to me? That is awkward." Keitaro said half to himself, half to Haruka.

" Is that illegal of something?" Haruka managed to crack a joke despite the sadness that rushed in to her for having to leave Hinatasou. Keitaro smiled knowingly, seeming more mature for once.

" You've grown up, Keitaro. It is finally time for you to take complete charge over all of Hinatasou. I won't be here to help you anymore after tonight. Promise me that you'll be a good kanrinrin, Keitaro," Haruka said with a smile as she patted Keitaro on his back.

" I'll try my best," Keitaro said.

At that moment, neither Haruka nor Keitaro said another word. Both of them had thoughts in their minds, Keitaro thinking about how he would ever get out of the misunderstandings with Naru without Haruka's help while Haruka's mind drifted back to the many memories she had had in Hinatasou since a small child.

Haruka remembered what she had planned to give to Keitaro so she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small diary book.

" It may not look like much, but it contains everyone's memories; everyone who have once lived in Hinatasou," Haruka said as she handed Keitaro the diary, " now that you are the true kanrinrin, I will give this to you."

" Everyone's memories?"

" Everyone, even you and me. Everyone has memories, and these memories are recorded into this little book. Take good care of it, and remember to continue writing in it. It is the only written record of this place."

Keitaro stared at the little diary book. He wanted to read everything in there, but felt that memories should be reserved to the individual, not for outsiders like him.

" Read it," Haruka encouraged as she flipped open the book to the page where the title "Haruka's Hinata Memories" were written at the top, "here is where I started writing."

Keitaro looked at the title, and then stared down at the city lights.

" Hinata Memories..." he thought as his own past appeared before him once again.

Motoko Aoyama: Here is the short prologue. I hope you all can give me some feedback on this story since it is still experimental and if it doesn't do well, I will remove it. If you have any ideas about the past of any LH characters, please tell me since that would be very helpful. Okay, that's all. Please review!
