Sasuke could not forget it. Could not get past it. That one terrible moment that had defined everything he was, could be, would be. Everything he would experience/succumb to/overcome/screw up/fail/destroy. Everything inside of him, slowly eaten away at inch by precious inch. Everything he had built, had made himself, had strived for- all of it rotting beneath the force of that one moment, that one memory, that one thing that he could not ignore or escape for even a heartbeat.
