Promises don't mean much to most people. They're just a figure of speech and break easily as hearts. Lee was used to that outlook.

But that was most people. And that was before he met Gai- sensei.

Gai, some people might say, took promises too seriously. Even a foolish promise or a promise made in the heat of the moment he would always stand beside.

But he never REALLY made foolish promises.

Because the only foolish promises are the ones that you can't keep. And Gai, it seemed, could keep any promise.

That was why Lee decided to be like him.
