You know the truth hurts. Because you can't run away from it, can't change it, can't make it something else. Because the truth is the truth is the truth.

But sometimes the truth isn't so bad. Sometimes . . .

Sometimes it's nice. It's nice and it feels good and everyone's happy. Sometimes it's a smile and an affectionate look and a person who acknowledges you no matter what.

But sometimes it's him and the fact that he doesn't care, and her and the fact that she does, and you and what's inside your body.

You wish you could lie.
