Story: Rosemary For Remembrance

Ranma
opened a drawer of Akane's dresser and peered inside. He had never done
anything like this before, unless you counted the time he searched his
pop's dresser for a lost okonomiyaki. But he would never dream of
looking through Akane's things if it weren't for the special
cirumstances. Akane had been missing for a week now, and Ranma was
starting to get worried.
He looked in the first
drawer-clothes. The second drawer-a martial arts gi, black belt, and her
mallet. "Strange- I would've expected her to take that..." he thought.
Third drawer-er, underwear. The fourth drawer was empty except for a
note. Strangely, it was addressed to him.
'Dear Ranma,
I know you don't know why I left, and I'm not going to tell you. But I
want you to have something. Press the button in the top left corner of
my last drawer.
Love,
Akane.'
Ranma put down the note and
stared into space for a while. He was thinking about the note...Akane
had said 'Love, Akane'. He wondered why... Presently he stirred himself
and pressed the button. The bottom of the drawer flipped up and
revealed a small space. In it was a sheaf of hair that looked
familiar...Of course! It was Akane's hair, the long ebony sheaf of hair
that Ryoga had chopped off with his razon-sharp metal bandanna. A faint
smell came to Ranma's nostrils, and he bent his head to sniff it.
"Rosemary..." he said aloud, "Rosemary, for remembrance..."

Yeah,
yeah, I know, it's all sentimental drivel. This is what comes of
reading an Agatha Christie in the bathtub! Of course, it might be that
there was Rosemary in the book("Remembered Death" or "Sparkling
Cyanide") and I was 'Shampoo'ing my hair...anyway, hope you like it!
