Tale of A Sparrow (Used to be Untitled Pirates of the Caribbean Fanfiction)

By: Sherlock's Sparrow

Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean.

A/N: No, I'm not planning on having a romance, before anyone can ask.

Chapter One: Melora's Discovery

One warm evening around sunset, Melora Flynn, aged twenty-five, was strolling down the stretch of beach near her home on the island of Grand Cayman. She saw a man lying on the beach with long dark dreadlocks, a red bandana, tan skin, a ripped white shirt, gray breeches no shoes, and through the holes in his shirt, she could see dozens of bruises, burns, and scratches. It took a couple minutes for Melora to recognize the man. It was Captain Jack Sparrow. Melora crept up to the unconscious captain, and gently poked his arm with her index finger.

"Are you allright, sir?" she asked.

Jack made no response.

She poked him a few more times, and still she received no answer from him. Knowing that leaving him on the beach wouldn't be the best thing in the world, Melora half carried, half dragged Jack into her house.

When she laid Jack in one of her guest rooms, she decided to throw his shredded shirt in the scrap bag. Then, she tended to his wounds. There was nothing she could do for his bruises, but she had a few salves for his burns and scratches. After she put the salves away, she came back into the room.

Captain Sparrow, what happened to you, she thought, before going into her older brother Bernard's room, to get a spare shirt for the pirate.

Melora came back to Jack's room, and carefully pulled the shirt on Jack, being careful not to disturb his wounds.

Within a few hours, Melora was putting one of her salves on Jack's arms, when she looked up and saw a pair of dark brown eyes staring at her in confusion.

"My name's Melora Flynn. You're Captain Jack Sparrow, aren't you?" she said, dropping his arm.

Jack slowly nodded his head.

"I got you a new shirt. Your old one was practically in rags," she added.

Jack looked down at his shirt, feeling the newness of it with his hands.

"Do you know how you came to be on this island?" Melora asked.

Once again, Jack nodded.

"Can you tell me?" she asked.

This time, Jack shook his head.

Wondering why he wasn't talking, she said, "Does it have something to do with these?"

She pointed at a long scratch on his arm.

Jack nodded, sticking to his strange vow of silence.

"Would you like to stay here, until other arrangements can be made?" she asked.

Jack thought about it for a few seconds then nodded.

"All right. I'll see you in a few hours. I've got lots to do," Melora told him, exiting the room.

After Melora left, Jack went to sleep.
