Author's note: Wow look at this I wrote a Vegeta fic. This is my first attempt at writing about his character so I hope that I did a good job. I'm used to writing fics about Goku's family but I thought that this song really fit him when you analyze it. The song is called "If I Can't Love Her" from the Broadway version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Yeah Vegeta and Disney they just go hand in hand don't they? Well I hope you like it.

Ponderings

And in my twisted face

"Why?"

There's not the slightest trace

"Why do I stay among these pathetic creatures? Why did they take me in?"

Of anything that even hints at kindness

"Is it because they fear I will still destroy them? No, no they do not fear me as long as Kakarot lives."

And from my tortured shape

"I am the prince of the Saiyan race, a warrior born."

No comfort, no escape

"I train. I have been training my whole life."

I see, but deep within is utter blackness

"But it has been for nothing."

Hopeless

"Kakarot became the Super Saiyan."

As my dream dies

"It was supposed to be me."

As the time flies

"I have become nothing."

Love a lost illusion

"I have nothing."

Helpless

"I shall have no legacy."

Unforgiven

"The true Saiyan race dies with me."

Cold and driven

"Unless."

To this sad conclusion

"It could never be."

No beauty could move me

"The earth woman."

No goodness improve me

"She would be worthy."

No power on Earth, if I can't love her

"But I can't."

No passion could reach me

"Mates must be of the same soul."

No lesson could teach me

"Destruction and terror are my ways, they are not hers"

How I could have loved her and make her love me too

"I cannot become what these earthlings are, not like Kakarot has."

If I can't love her, then who?

"But what have I gained."

Long ago I should have seen

"Kakarot walks with these fools and yet he is stronger."

All the things I could have been

"Is this the secret?"

Careless and unthinking I move onward

"Like a machine I have always done what I was bred to do as a child."

No pain could be deeper

"We were destroyed for our foolishness."

No life could be cheaper

"I am the prince of ghosts."

No point anymore if I can't love her

"My vow to defeat Kakarot is the only thing left."

No spirit could win me

"A vow to beat a mere peasant."

No hope left within me

"How pathetic."

Hope I could have loved her and that she'd set me free

"A prince with no legacy."

But it's not to be

"If I die in this battle with these cyborgs no one will remember me."

If I can't love her

"No decedents."

Let the world be done with me

"Back to training."

"Vegeta!"

"What is it woman."

"I've been looking for you."

"Why?"

"Well for one you shouldn't be training with a sprained ankle like that."

"Shut up woman you know nothing about fighting."

"I know that walking around in high gravity is only going to make that worse."

"Let me be woman."

"Fine, but come in I made you something to eat."

"What?"

"I made you supper, come on."

"Fine woman."
