Star Girl

I can see him now

A silhouette against the stark sky

Face upturned to watch Heaven;

He stands amongst the rubble –

A boy no longer.

He is our hero

He fought so hard for our happiness

But he sacrificed his own.

His eyes reflecting the stars –

His heart is stolen.

"Is she up there?

Is she thinking of me now?

Or has she already forgotten –

Like the stupid adult she is?"

The girl from the stars –

She didn't really leave him behind.

She took away his heart, and

Left behind his empty shell –

He's changed forever.

I have no hope now.

He has been taken away from me.

Again. Another one gone.

Did I ever have a chance?

…No. Probably not.

Still he watches

Waiting for her to come back –

As it wasn't easy to forget

Just how much he really loved her.
