Chapter 25: Terror
A/N: I am sorry to inform you that this is the last chapter of my series. I've tried putting this off as much as I could, but in the end, all good things must come to an end. I am looking into a sequel, which will deal with the cliffhanger at the end of this chapter! At the beginning of spring break, I made a goal to try and finish this fanfic before the end, and it looks as if I am succeeding.
Hi! Thankies for all of you that reviewed! I just changed some stuff around here to go with my sequel... which is somewhat painstakingly hard to write... i wrote three different versions!! XD
--Flashback/Recap Begins--
A/N: Since this is the last chapter, it takes place in the future, so it will have no recap.
--Flashback/Recap Ends--
Five Years Later
Over the five years, Sydney remembered everything that happened during her two years. She lived happily with Sark in Florida, along with their daughter, Aurora They lived the ideal life. Since Sydney only kept in touch with her father, she didn't know what was going on with anyone else, but she didn't mind. She finally had the normal life that she had always wanted. Everyday was full of happiness and joy, except for one day.
--
Sydney woke up with Sark's arms around her, she smiled, knowing this was the life for her. She worked as a literature professor at a nearby college. Sark opened his own law firm and settled down. She got up and showered before heading into Aurora's room.
"Honey, get up, you're going to be late for school." She said, shaking the four year old.
"Mom, do I have to? Can't you just say that I'm sick or something?" The girl asked, covering her head with blankets.
"Do I have to go wake up your dad?" She said, heading out the door.
"There's no need for that!" Aurora yelled, jumping out of the bed. Every time her mom went to get her dad, he'd end up tickling her to death. She'd always end up late for school.
"Then go get ready." She said, heading into the bedroom she shared with Sark.
"Sark, c'mon, get up. You're going to be late to work." She said, trying to shake him awake.
"Ugh" He said groggily, heading towards the bathroom. Half an hour later, they both came downstairs to find pancakes waiting for them. After kissing Sydney and Aurora goodbye, he grabbed a pancake and stuffed it in his mouth before heading out the door.
"How come dad never eats much?" Aurora asked, slicing her pancake before taking a bite.
"Because dad knows that he'll be late for work. Now hurry up before you make me late." Sydney said, grabbing her briefcase. Five minutes later, Aurora finished her breakfast and set the dish in the sink and headed out to the car. Sydney drove her to school everyday because she worked at the nearby college.
"Don't forget, dad's picking you up today." Sydney said, kissing Aurora's forehead. She ran out of the car and into the schoolyard to join up with her friends.
Sydney arrived at the college five minutes later and did her daily routine. After teaching her morning classes, she met Sark for lunch at the deli across the street everyday at lunch. After lunch, she'd usually finish teaching all of her classes and pick up Aurora on her way home. Today was an exception because she had a meeting discussing the budget. Knowing how much Sark loved both her and Aurora, she felt as if she didn't have to worry. At five, her meeting finally ended and she headed home. She saw Sark's black Mercedes parked in the driveway and headed inside. Going into Aurora's room, she discovered that she wasn't in there. She headed into the bedroom, where she saw Sark sitting on the bed, with his hands covering his face. Wondering what's going on, her cell phone rang.
"Hello?" She asked, stepping out into the hallway.
"He took you away from me, so, now you guys must pay." An eerily familiar voice said through the cell phone.
"Vaughn?" She asked, almost in disbelief.
"Mommy? Where are you? Some man told me that daddy was in a better place and he was taking me to see daddy. Mommy, what happened?" Aurora's frightened voice asked through the cell phone.
"Oh my god! Aurora, where are you?" She asked, maternal insticts kicking in.
"You won't see your daughter again unless you leave Sark." The familiar voice sounded over the phone.
"Vaughn, why are you doing this to us?" She said, on the verge of a breakdown.
"Because he took you away from me. We were suppose to get married, Syd. But you ran away and got married to Sark. Either leave him and get your daughter back, or never see your daughter again. Meet me in five days at the warehouse. If you don't show, I'll assume you don't want your daughter anymore." Vaughn said, before hanging up the phone.
The phone slipped from her hand and fell to the ground as her knees buckled. She fell to the ground, no longer knowing what to do. "Oh god." She whispered, realizing that this was all her fault. Finally catching on, Sark came out to see what was happening.
"What is it?" He asked, almost terrified.
But she didn't reply. She let the tears escape from her eyes as she broke down.
"Sydney, what's going on?" He asked. Realizing that she wouldn't answer, he shook her "Sydney! What is going on?!" He asked, looking terrified.
"Vaughn... he has Aurora..." She managed to squeak out before breaking down. He hugged her tightly. She calmed down a few minutes later, explaining the rest.
"He said that I have to leave you in order to get Aurora back... or else we won't see her ever again." She whispered. "This is all my fault." She said, a new wave of tears hitting her.
"Everything will be all right." Sark said in a soothing voice.
"How can you say that?! My psychotic ex-fiancé has our daughter and wants me to leave you to get her back!" She yelled, finally letting everything out. "I don't know what to do anymore." She whispered into Sark's ear. She hugged him tightly, knowing what she had to do.
TBC in a sequel (maybe?)
A/N: That concludes Away! I will probably write a sequel, but I don't know... I might get swamped with homework and haveta put it off for a while. If I do not choose to write a sequel, I apologize deeply! I know you all have imaginations! So it will be the perfect time to use it! If no other fanfic is named 'Decision', then that will be it's name! Otherwise, if another fanfic is called that, then suggestions?. Any suggestions are welcomed.
I want to take this opportunity to thank anyone who read this fanfic and anyone who sent some feedback my way! If there is anything that you still quite don't get, send some feedback my way! And if there are at least three questions, I'll make a page after this chapter to answer all of the questions that you have!! Thank you for reading my first fanfic!!
