AN: I couldn't think of a story to write so I wrote a story about that. Don’t worry, it will turn into a proper Incarnations story but I need some time to develop a background and set the mood. Anyways enjoy my first fanfiction story ever written!

Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing about the Incarnations of Immortality or anything else Piers Anthony wrote. I don’t even own the characters and plot, my muse Storm does. So please don’t sue me because I only do this in honor of his stories. (Please don’t hold me responsible for any lawyers who are about to sue me but die from a mysterious snake bite! I swear my muse didn’t do it!)

Alec sat at the computer wondering what to do. He had a major writers block and couldn’t think of what to write. The deadline was coming up soon and if he didn’t get this story done on time he wouldn’t be able to pay the rent. His landlord was actually a nice lady and would usually let him go for a few weeks without paying because he had always paid it back before, but he was afraid her patience with him was getting short and he didn’t want to get thrown out. He sat resisting the urge to smash the keyboard, knowing that it would only make things worse. Sigh… “Why me? Why do I have to get writers block at a time like this? Every time I get a good story going I can’t finish it without going through one of these horrid blocks!” He pushed the chair back with a screech on the wooden floor, and gathered up his coat. “Well I might as well go for a walk, maybe something I see will inspire me.” He sighed and left the apartment, locking the door behind him.

Elsewhere

Sandra looked around her and sighed. It was just some scientist, apparently trying to figure something out about a weird skeleton with what looked like nine tails. Why had she ever agreed to do this job? Probably because she thought it would be more exciting than this. But you can’t always get what you want, and her job wasn’t going to get interesting anytime soon. “I really have to find someone to take over this job soon, otherwise I’m gonna go crazy.” She groaned. She quickly did what she had to do and the scientist looked startled. Then she went back to searching for her replacement.

Few days later

Alec had finally finished his story and had gotten an unexpected bonus so he was now trying to decide what to do with an extra 800. He was torn between saving it for when he really needed the cash, and getting something really nice and useless. Finally he decided to watch some TV and if there was nothing in the commercials that he could afford or even wanted, he would put the money into a savings account. He decided to watch until midnight. (It was currently 7:18)

There were commercials on cleaning supplies, new healthy foods, fast cars, magic carpets and even an advertisement urging him to join up with the devil now to get a ‘family package’. “Like that will ever happen!” Alec laughed. “It looks like there is nothing to buy that I want. Oh well… savings account it is.” Just then another commercial came on. “Hi. Are you bored out of your mind? Tired of doing the same old things over and over again?” The female sounding announcer asked. “Well if you can see this magical commercial as it is instead of a commercial for a board game, you are eligible for a once-in-a-lifetime job of being an Incarnation! This is no joke, only a few people can see this add and you are one of them. If you are looking for a newer and more exiting job then go to the following address for a job interview. Be warned, the opening is only for a minor Incarnation, you won’t get to stop time or anything like that!” Then an address flashed – Purgatory, Inspiration offices, Room 9. –

AN: Muahahahahahahaha! You are going to have to wait to find out what Alec does about the commercial. (It is fairly obvious!)  Also, I’m sure you might have guessed what Sandra does but can someone guess exactly what she does and why it’s necessary in the grand scheme of things? Whoever gets closest will get an idea for a story from my muse Storm. “Isn't he generous? He never gives ME ideas, but is glad to give them to OTHERS!” Anyways, they will get a small part in my story. (Depends on where the winners personality fits in best.) So please tell me how I’m doing and don’t resist the urge to press the little button at the bottom of the page. Oh and this is the newer edited version, the next chappie is almost done but I’m a procrastinator so don’t expect much!
