What If You Get Stuck?

A sixteen years old boy, or should you say man, with red hair and freckles sat by the lake. His name was Ron Weasley. Ron had always loved the lake at Hogwarts. Now sitting here he was able to clear his mind. Thinking about the past year, everything that happened with Voldemort, what happened in the Department of Mysteries and Sirius dying. This was Ron's way of dealing with it, watch the tiny waves, feel the wind blowing in his hair, the sun burning in his face. This was his place.

Harry Potter, his best friend, had been avoiding him and their best friend Hermione Granger. He hadn't been the same since he saw his godfather dying. Harry had taken it really hard; he hadn't really spoken to them since that night. Now that Ron thought about it, he and Hermione hadn't really talked to Harry since their fourth year.

During their past year at Hogwarts Ron and Hermione had gotten really close. Since Harry barely spoke to them during that time it had just been them left. Hermione had taken the whole "Harry-not-speaking-to-them" event pretty serious. Ron still remembered that time in the hospital wing after Sirius had died. Both Ron and she had been hurt pretty badly. Ron had woken up before her and he had gotten out of bed and walked up to her. He had sat down on the chair standing next to her bed; he had watched her for an hour, holding her hand. No one knew when she was going to wake up, neither did Ron. He had been so worried; he even got tears in his eyes thinking about it.

When he had woken up he had been so happy. He had been asleep and when he had woken up he had found her sitting on his bed, smiling. He had been so happy to find out she had woken up that he had hugged her. Hermione had been surprised but had hugged him back tightly; he knew she had been crying. She sobbed into his shoulder and Ron had continued hugging her until she had stopped. That night they had really talked, about everything. Well everything except Viktor Krum, who still was a very shaky subject.

'Ron?'

Ron looked around. Standing beside him was Hermione.

'Hi Hermione,' he said. Hermione sat down next to him.

'I thought I'd find you here,' she said. Hermione was the only one who knew that Ron went down to the lake when needing to think.

'Yeah, I knew you'd come,' said Ron. Hermione smiled.

'Thinking about Harry?' she asked. Ron nodded.

'Yeah, about him and... Well about everything,' he said.

'We will never stop thinking about that night Ron, you know that,' said Hermione.

'I know, that night we got hurt pretty bad. My head still hurts from those brains,' said Ron. Hermione moved a bit closer to him, resting her head on his chest.

'I know it does Ron, and my stomach still hurts. But that's something that we'll have to live with,' she said. Ron put an arm around her shoulder.

'Yeah, we're going to have to live with that. But that's OK, as long as I know that you're all right,' he said. Hermione smiled, Ron could be so sweet sometimes.

They sat there, lost in their thoughts for a long time. They sat there until it was time for dinner. But when Hermione was about to get up she found herself...

'Stuck!'

'What?' said Ron.

'I'm stuck. My jacket is stuck to yours,' she said. They both got up and tried to loose the jackets from each other. It never came to their mind that they both could have taken their jackets off. And in an attempt to get loose both of them fell down on the ground, both of them laughing.

Ron found himself lying on top of Hermione. Looking into her chocolate brown eyes, watching her tiny freckles something drove him. He leaned down, closing the space between them, placing his lips on top of hers. To his surprise Hermione kissed him back. Then she moved her hands up his back into his hair. The kiss growing more passionate. When they broke apart both of them were smiling.

'That was-'

'Yeah,' said Ron.

'How long?'

'I dunno, you?'

'A while,' said Hermione. Ron smiled. Leaning down once more.

'You know what, I think I'm really in love with you Hermione,' he said before kissing her again. Then they broke apart again.

'I know I'm in love with you Ron,' said Hermione before kissing Ron, letting the kiss grow more passionate than before.
