Getting Married
Hermione Granger was 23 years old and now, here she was. It was only hours until she was going to get married. She had known him since she was eleven years old. They had met on the first train ride to Hogwarts. Now they were getting married.
Studying a picture of her, he and their other best friend she started to think. 'Is this really what I want?' she asked herself. Looking down at the picture she thought about all the memories they had together. Sitting in the common room late at night talking, laughing, she had watched them play chess. Or the times when they had just spent a whole day in Hogsmead, or all the times they had sat by the lake together or when he had gotten her to ride a broom.
Hermione smiled, she remembered that day when the picture had been taken. It had been on the day that they had graduated from Hogwarts. Even though they all looked happy on the picture Hermione had cried a whole lot that day. She remembered him asking her if she was ever planning to stop.
Hermione felt a single tear sliding down her right cheek. She drew her left hand up to her face, wiping the tear away. 'Silly me. I shouldn't cry today, I'm getting married,' she thought.
She looked back down at the picture once more, she watched him, and he was standing on her right side. Then she looked at the boy standing on her left side. Her head was resting on his shoulder, they both looked so happy. Strange.
Looking at that picture, remembering their time together she just knew. Hermione dropped the picture. Ran down stairs. She had to talk to him.
'Hermione, the groom isn't supposed to see the bride on the wedding day,' said Neville Longbottom, an old friend from Hogwarts. A fellow Gryffindor.
'I know. But I have to talk to him, please Neville,' said Hermione.
'OK, he's in the kitchen. I'll just go outside,' answered Neville and opened the front door and stepped outside.
Hermione opened the door leading to the kitchen. He was standing there, wearing a nice tuxedo. When he saw her he gasped.
'I'm not supposed to see you before the wedding,' he said.
'I know,' said Hermione.
'So?' he said. Looking questionably at Hermione. She swallowed hard.
'Harry, I-'
'I know,' said Harry. 'He's in my bedroom.'
'I'm so sorry Harry,' said Hermione. 'I really am.'
Harry shook his head.
'Just go,' he said. Hermione nodded, opened the kitchen door and went to Harry's bedroom.
When she opened the door, she found him sitting on the bed. He tie hadn't been tied. His hair was messed up, he looked a mess.
'Hi,' she said. He looked up at her, smiling.
'What are you doing here?' he asked.
'I needed to talk to you,' answered Hermione and sat down next to him.
'What about?' he asked. 'You don't have much time, you're getting married today.' Hermione nodded.
'I know,' she said. 'Remember that day, when we got together?' He nodded.
'Yeah,' he said. 'How can I forget...? '
'Why did we break up?' asked Hermione.
'I don't know,' he said. 'I don't even know why I showed up here.'
'Yeah,' said Hermione. 'If it was me I wouldn't have come.'
'Well, waht did you really want to talk about?' he asked.
'I'm not going to get married, not today and not to Harry,' said Hermione.
'What?'
'I still love you Ron,' said Hermione. Ron smiled.
'I've always loved you Hermione,' he said. 'I always will.'
Ron cupped Hermione's face in his hands and kissed her sweetly and wasn't at all that surprised when she kissed him back.
