This might explain the a bit of stuff from the movie, like why Jack gave Barbossa the bearings of the island, and why there are such weird vibes between them. R/R!

Jack Sparrow. The name’s a bit ridiculous – I mean, I am a head shorter than anybody else aboard, but I’m only fourteen. Give me time.

It’s certainly wise to hide my birth name; Papa’s always told me family and affection mean death aboard a pirate ship. By the way we act, you’d never know we’re father and son, and we’ve been growing even farther apart lately. I think he’s jealous – I do better with the wenches now, and I’m almost as strong, and much smarter. Youthful arrogance? Perhaps.

So I’ll keep the nickname, and not only for safety’s sake; it does sound interesting. Much better than Jack Barbossa, anyway.

So, what do you think?
