Author Note: Hey to all the people reading my story! Thanks for deciding to read my first fanfic, I hope you all enjoy it! The first chapter is kind of short because it is basically just an introduction.

~1: Summer Dreams~

The sun rays pouring in through two enormous bay windows were immediately absorbed in Lily Evan's thick wavy red hair. Pulling the ember glowing hair into a tight bun, Lily appreciatively looked out her window to find the garden storming with summer life. It was the hottest summer England had seen in over 60 years, and it hadn't rained in 4 weeks!

Deciding it best to take advantage of the stunning weather, Lily picked up a small blue book and flopped down on a hammock tied between two willow trees in her garden. Life didn't get much better than this Lily thought to herself. Everything seemed perfect to her as she lay swinging softly from side to side; in 2 weeks she would be on the Hogwarts express beginning her duties as head girl. 7th year at Hogwarts would be challenging but fun and Lily could hardly wait to see her two best friends Tessa and Lizzie again.

Despite the gorgeous weather there was one thing that had been gnawing at Lily's brain all summer; who had been appointed head boy? It hadn't said in her Hogwarts letter last week. Maybe it was Remus Lupin? He was smart and responsible compared to his other two pals Sirius Black and James Potter...seriously how did he manage to stick around those two all the time? James drove Lily mad when he constantly asked her out. Sure he was very smart and quite good looking, but his pranks were any head-girl's or 1st year's nightmare! Lily didn't want to think about the legendary Marauders anymore, and after all she had her sister Petunia's diary right in front of her. Chuckling mischievously to herself, Lily opened the book which revealed her sister's innermost thoughts. Who said a top student couldn't be sneaky?

Meanwhile a 17 year old boy with chaotic ink black hair by the name of James Potter sat casually in a garden chair polishing his brand new broomstick, while his best friend Sirius chattered about his latest pranks for the year.

"James, James? Hello? Earth to James Potter!" Cried Sirius waving a big hand in front of James deep brown eyes.

Oh man! He has that glazed expression on his face again! It can only mean one thing...he's dreaming about darling Lily! He asked for it!

"Woa, there goes Lily! She's looking mighty good today!" Yelled Sirius.

"Where? Lily? Huh? Here? Now?" James shouted as he fell out of his chair clumsily. Suddenly it dawned on him; Lily wasn't in his garden, this was plainly another Sirius Black joke.

"Oh that was incredibly funny Padfoot! I'm really not that thick; I knew you were playing with me!"

"Right lover boy. Will you please wake up now? I've already thought up three more sneakishly brilliant plans for this year! It's going to be the best!" Sirius chuckled loudly.

"You and your pranks!" Exclaimed James whacking his friend over the head with a polishing cloth. Sirius quickly smoothed his shaggy hair back down looking slightly annoyed.

"Watch the hair!"

"Right mate...so you have my undivided attention, what new pranks have you conjured up this time?" Asked James amused.

"Good...so I was thinking we should do something at the Halloween feast right? So..." Sirius' voice grew more and more distant in James' ears. He just couldn't help it, in just two weeks he would be on the Hogwarts express with the one and only girl of his dreams...Lily Evans. The world was complete at that one thought. It didn't matter that she had refused him for the past two years, this year he was prepared, and he knew just how to win her heart over.
