Li Syaoran bites his lips. He's a bit unsure of himself right now.

He muses on going back on his decision, after all he's 15 and not a child and he is a Li. Maybe this isn't written in his fate.

But his girlfriend encourages him; she's his guardian angel. It doesn't bother him the least bit that she will be watching him. Rather, he feels better.

He isn't afraid of the rain; rather, it's having fun in the rain that scares him. As a child he wanted to soak in the rain along with all his other friends but his mother wouldn't let him. He used to tell himself that the kids would be suffering from pneumonia but it was really just a case of sour grapes.

Perhaps fun and he weren't compatible. He was raised strictly and it has an effect on his tastes. Maybe the descendant of Clow Reed was destined to be one of those uptight CEOs of some company.

Despite his reluctance, he feels the roof is inviting him. The rain descends from the heaven. Each tiny, clear droplet loses its perfection the moment it hits the ground. The very destruction of perfection. Suddenly he isn't so afraid.

He sighs. He would not go back on his word, he is serious about it. He had talked to Sakura about this and he didn't want to disappoint her.

He takes off his sneakers. She puts one step inside the roof and he holds her hand.

"It's my battle and I... I mean it's my thing. Join me when I've overcome it. I don't want to ruin anything by being unprepared."

"I'll wait." She nods.

The future Li Kinomoto Sakura's job isn't easy but it's worthwhile. She will always watch his back. She isn't embarrassed by his need to complete this 'mission' but rather feels happy for him. He will finally claim a joy he has been deprived of for so long.

He steps into the roof, smiling a bit. It doesn't look bad. The sky has a pleasant shade and there's something about it that makes him happy.

"Syaoran!" She yells. He turns around wanting to see what the matter is. She puts her thumbs up for him.

His feet brushes with the wet surface of his feet. He isn't drenched but he feels the water drenching his shirt. Suddenly it occurs to him that he might slip if he dances on the roof, then what? Well, he won't know until he goes through with it. Since when was he defiant? He lets out a cheeky smile.

He throws his watch away. His wrist feels relieved. He looks at his watch reminding himself that it is waterproof and shock-resistant.

He holds out his arms to the rain and welcomes the blessed shower. He feels the sky smiling at him.

Why was he ever afraid of this?

He kicks about the water. Droplets fly everywhere. He feels something over his heart. It's heavy but not unpleasant but rather uplifting.

He kicks about, swaying his arms a bit.

He jumps and twirls around, leaving his smiling mouth open so that the fresh rain may enter it. He laughs a bit. Oddly, he doesn't choke.

He smiles wistfully. He feels confident and thankful. Yet, he is not sure that he has perfected the art of dancing in the rain.

He ushers his eager girlfriend to him.

Sakura cheerfully kicks off her sandals and runs to the roof.

"Careful, you'll slip!"

He is a bit wary. He needs to work a little on fun.

She jumps into his arms. At first his frame attempts to recover from the received shock. Thankfully, his weight is enough to support hers.

The tips of their noses touch and she gives him an Eskimo kiss.

She layers her lips over his. He had been feeling a bit cold but he feels warm once more. They hug each other, tighter and tighter. They don't feel close enough. To an unfortunate onlooker (now let us be honest, Syaoran would not have let this person live), they seem to suffocate each other. Then they're finally close enough at last.

She climbs down from his lap and grasps his hands. She holds them and starts spinning with him. He feels a deja vu. She'd done the same thing with him three years back when she became the Card Mistress.

He feels a bit dizzy.

Unfortunately the friction on the wet floor keeps decreasing as they spin. They finally fall–Syaoran on top of Sakura.

The thing Syaoran dreads has occurred yet he has no regrets or sadness. He feels free. He smiles at Sakura who smiles back.

He has completed his mission.

Li Syaoran has finally danced on the roof, in the rain with his girlfriend.
