= Falling Into You =

He awoke to the feel of something cool tracing his lips. He shifted slightly, but did not open his eyes. He was too tired and he wanted to get some well-deserved rest. Life as the Sanzo-ikkou's driver was not easy but he was not about to complain. Allow him some rest and he would be fine. As he attempted to slip back into dreamland, he was vaguely aware that whatever was tracing his lips was no longer there. That was fine with him. It was probably just a passing draft or something.

Unfortunately, dreamland was refusing him access and he realized it would be awhile before he could drift back to sleep. Still he kept his eyes closed, figuring it would quicken the process than when he had his eyes opened. It was then he felt it again; the feel of something cool tracing his lips. But this time, he recognized what it was. It was not a passing draft – it was a finger.

Sanzo. . .

Just as he was contemplating whether to open his eyes and catch the blonde monk red-handed, he heard the soft drone of the latter's voice, strangely passionate and warm, freed from its usual brusqueness. "I'm not good with words, Hakkai… you know that. We've been together for months now but words are rare between us. All we do is just to reach out for each other and that's it."

He felt his heart stopped then. It was getting difficult to breathe as he waited in anticipation for Sanzo to say more. It was true words were rare between them behind closed doors and though he never brought the subject up, it seemed like the blonde knew of his heart's longing to hear something… anything at all. The finger moved then, leaving a bittersweet ache at his lips but the gentle caress of knuckles against his cheek made up for it.

"I've heard you whisper to me when you thought I was sleeping." There was a pregnant pause. "The situation is probably the same now. Do me a favor, Hakkai… if you're awake, do not open your eyes. Grant me this one and probably only chance."

He did not move, did not even dare to breathe. The caressing at his cheek stopped but soon after, he felt a finger outlining his left eyebrow before moving down to lightly trace the contour of his closed eye. "And in your eyes I see ribbons of color, I see us inside of each other. I feel my unconscious merge with yours..."

Fingers smoothed his longish bangs then, exposing his forehead to the cool air, ensued by a soft butterfly-like kiss upon the middle. "I'm falling into you. This dream could come true and it feels so good falling into you."

A quiet sigh. "I was afraid to let you in here. Now I have learned love can't be made in fear. The walls begin to tumble down and I can't even see the ground. Falling like a leaf, falling like a star. Finding a belief, falling where you are. Catch me, don't let me drop… Love me, don't ever stop…"

He could not take it. He wanted to see the blonde, to search the truth of those words in the beautiful amethyst eyes and thereafter rained kisses all over him. His lids stirred and he was so close to break free from the darkness that blanketed his sight when he felt kisses bestowed on his lids, effectively stopping his intent. "So close your eyes and let me kiss you. And while you sleep I will miss you," the blonde breathed as he began kissing every inch of exposed skin he could find. "Hakkai…" he whispered huskily. "I'm falling into you… And it feels so good falling into you…"

His heart blossomed with such unexplained bliss at those words. The longing he had was finally fulfilled. As the kisses continued, he found himself drifting off and though he struggled not to, it was a useless battle. And just before he finally succumbed to his weariness, he whispered, "And it feels so good falling into you…too…"

I recommend the song 'Falling Into You' if you ever need a sappy song to hear to. It's very nice and especially great when you hear it while reading a 383 fic. Muahahaa…. Anyhow, I apologize if you think the lyrics don't seem to fit in the fic. It does to me, anyway… but well, if it isn't your cup of tea, sumimasen ne.
