One plot bunny that needed fulfillment during our mythology unit at school, I saw a brilliant opportunity to get even with the elf who all of ruined LOTR and take a stab at the fangirls who obsess over his blond girliness. You know who you are.
As Sister Moon-Selene, radiance of the night, rode with measured wheel tread the starry halls above middle earth, she watched with a practiced eye the fields, lustrous with new grown grain, the glow of white mountains, the impure stench of smoke that rose constantly from Mordor and his conspirators. Gazing down from her chariot idling along, she glanced a single man in the fields known among men as Ithilien, Moon-land of Gondor. Stepping from her car, she gathered up her robes and flew down to rest by the young man's side.
The fair hair arrayed on the hilltop like the rays from her brother, Phoebus Apollo, could not help but be touched by her white fingers. The man- no, twas not a man, but an elf, she could plainly see those gracefully tipped ears- never stirred as she ran a soft finger over the high lines of his face, planted a kiss on his rosy lips. She waved a hand over his peacefully sleeping face, laying the spell that would let him sleep forever, secluded from the world, slumbering forever for the whims of a Moon Goddess.
And in his dreams, Legolas, prince of Mirkwood, lay in the golden fields with a maid in white, arrayed like the moon, held forever in their flower enthroned wedding bower.

There is a cruel sense of poetic justice in this world. O. Bloom dies a cowardly death in Troy, and in so doing, all true blue LOTR fans are revenged with help from Homer. We love you, classical works of literature writers.
I posted this fic as the celebration of the joining of the Gwathel, two authors, Angoliel and Terreis, along with myself, dedicated to making the LOTR section of this website a better place to be.
Perhaps I wasn't clear at the beginning-This is a parody. I used the female and VERY GREEK incarnation (note reference to being the sister of the sun, Phoebus Apollo) of the moon because (as one of my reviewers was kind enough to remind me) the Elvish incarnation of the moon is male.
THIS IS NOT A SLASH FIC! I cannot write slash-as the first line clearly states, Sister-Moon Selene is a FEMALE. If you don't know the story of Endymion, I suggest 'Mythology' by Edith Hamilton. It's a very good book for reference of this sort.
Don't flame me, or Angoliel assured me she will hunt you down and return the favor in kind. Lex talionis, baby-works for us.
