A/N: The long not awaited third Chapter of PIRATE LIFE FOR ME, I'm sorry it took so long if anyone cares I've had Really bad Writers block Since May that ended about three weeks ago, but then there was this thing where thecomputer I was using couldn't read the disk, ect, ect. So my Disclaimer today goes; if I owned the Rights to Pirate of the Caribbean I would still have cable, so there will be no suing this morning, this afternoon or this evening. Happy now? Oh yeah to my one and only reviewer one this story; yes I did mean NIN Closer, because that version is so much better then the remake.
Chapter 3: Faint
The loud commotion outside awoke Jack from his uneasy sleep. Knowing the clamor had something to do with the conversation he'd had with that nice young lady from yesterday, what was her name again? Jack wondered absently as he pulled the hat over his eyes and pretended to sleep. Anabella, yeah that was it, a nice name- "Sparrow." Said one of the men, Jack simply ignored him, Make 'im wait for it, he thought. "Mister Sparrow, if you do not wake this instant you will be hanged this very morning." The 'ring leader' said all too indifferently. "I'm awake, I'm awake." He said putting his hat back at its place on the top of his head. "What is you want, and make it quick, as ye can see I'm a very busy man." Jack said sarcastically gesturing to his all but empty cell.
There were six of them standing in front of the cell, five men and a woman who stood in the back. The woman was Anabella , the man who had spoken looked to be a wealthy business man, next to him was a man much like Governor Swan and another that reminded him greatly of Norrington. Behind them there were two soldiers. "Mister Sparrow, it has come to my attention that you have knowledge of the whereabouts of a lady known as Maria Cassio." The Front man asked, "I may, what's it worth to ya." Jack replied, "We are willing to offer you your freedom if you agree to help us find young Maria," Said one of the men on the side. "What would you fine Gentlemen possibly want with little Mary, she a rather nice pirate if ye ask me, likes helping people." Jack said losing site of why he was talking in the first place(1). "Maria is my youngest daughter." Said the man in front, "About four years ago this island was attacked by pirates, they stole the settlement most valued treasures, killed innocent people, but worst of all they kidnapped my daughter. It is believed had Maria became a pirate only to save her own life." The man explained, "We only wish to find her so we can bring her home." When he finished his story Jack had an uneasy feeling, he didn't entirely trust this man. He was at an impasse, Surrender his own life or selfishly steal his friend's freedom. Damn it Jack you're a pirate just take the deal, he thought cursing his sudden lapse to morality. While Jack had been think Anabella had silently moved to the front of the group, "Please Jack," She begged in a voice that could melt the polar ice caps(2) "I miss my sister so much, please just help me find her." "Ok, I'll Do it fer you Anna."
That same morning as the sun rose sleepily over the horizon, a young man stood on the deserted deck of a small ship, anchored somewhere in the midst of a grand ocean. He watching absently as light play off the waves and humming a soft tune to himself. It was so peaceful. "Good morning William." Came a soft voice behind him, "Good morning Maria," he replied.
"It's Beautiful isn't it." Maria stated as she took her place beside him. "Not the word I would use, but yes it is. The one of those things that really changes, it moves and shifts but it's all the same... kind of like you." He didn't know why he added the last part it just sort of slipped out. When he said that Maria looked at him unsure what he meant by his word, turning her gaze back to the sea, "What was that song, Will?" she asked, "It's nothing." He replied. "Then just sing it." Maria demanded, "Fine," he said apathetically then, taking a deep breath, he began the song:
"Unsure of yourself
You stand divided.
Which road will lead you there?
Last time you fell and you so hit hard,
Your wounds have healed by now,
But you still can see your scars.
But it's not the way it use to be You came so far to just let this go
Don't go out the same way you did the last time
You'll break when you fall
Don't make the same mistakes you did all over
You've got to believe in yourself this time
Live on, live it up today
This life's your cup
So drink it up, I say,
It's mine so give it all up to me now
And walk that line, don't let go this time,
Don't go out the same way. (3)"
Maria listened quietly. "William, do you still love me(4)?" she asked cautiously when he had finished. "Maria I'm married. I love Elizabeth." "That doesn't mean anything." "Yes, Maria, it does, it mean a lot. We had a relationship once, but it ended nine months ago when I left." He stated, "You told me you would stay with me when we meet." Maria said in a small voice. "And maybe I would have if you hadn't so distant Maria! Maybe if you'd have told me something, anything, about yourself, maybe then I would have felt like you cared." He half shouted letting her know the main grievance he had about their two week long love affair. Silence fell on the pair. By this time the sun was fully risen and the crew was starting to gather on deck. "Maria, Maria, I was out of line, I-" "There's no need to apologize, you spoke your mind, I just wish you would have told me that nine month ago." She said softly obviously hurt by his words, "its time we put time you to work, Vallha will tell you what you need to do." She said gesturing over to a small group of people, before going to take her place at the helm. The group consisted of three persons: two women, one light skinned with golden brown hair the other had olive skin and jet black hair, and a muscled dark skinned man.
"Are you William?" asked the black hair woman, "Yes, everyone just calls me Will, you must be Vallha." He replied "I am, and this is Madeline, and Kyale(5)." She said pointing to the other woman and the man in turn, "now that we all know each other shall we get to work?" After a few minutes of working, Will decided to Inquire about Maria's past, "So how did you three get to know Maria?" He asked, "Oh Maria and I were, well I guess you may call it apprenticed, together on a ship called The Titan, one night there was this terrible storm. I was thrown over broad, Maria didn't hastate to grab a loose rope and jump in after me. I own her my life, so the least I could do was join her crew." Vallha explained. Madeline was the next to explain "About two years ago the crew came to the small sea side village I lived in to restock their supplies. While they were there we were attacked by raiders(6). Maria and the rest of the crew helped to fight them off, after that my parent, and well the whole settlement, felt they owed her something. So naturally I, having been raised with the prospect of being married to some man I'd never met and serving him till I die, volunteered to join them. I've been here(7) ever since." She said finishing her story. Will looked to the man, "And what's your story Kyale?" he asked. "Oh he doesn't talk much. He was a slave," Vallha asked for her friend, "Oh like Maria's friend Dalvini?" "Kind of, but Dalvini was taken from a salve ship we'd raided, Kyale we had found at the salve auctions, we pulled what money could spare, purchased him and set him free. I'm not sure if he stayed we us out of gratitude or obligation. Why are you so interested Will?" "No reason, really just… curious." (8)

Footnotes:
(1) losing site . . . place: awwww, poor Jack has no brain cells left, so sad.
(2) polar ice caps: ok so they didn't know about the polar ice caps, but it's symbolic.
(3) Unsure . . . same way: so the song is from 3 Doors Down it's called 'This Time' no I've never heard it but the lyrics worked. Also the unknown to Will while he was singing it the song express feelings Maria has about her 'unknown' past.
(4) Do you still love me?: ok, so I forgot to mention in previous 'chapter that Maria and Will had a relationship, but it ended uncertainly when Elizabeth forced him to leave, so both Maria and Will are a bit confessed about how the other feels.
(5) Vallha . . . Madeline . . . Kyale: ok the name Vallha my friend Katie came up with, Madeline I picked myself, and Kyale Jackie came up with.
(6) raiders: so Madeline lived in Norway or some place like that and there were these nomadic tribes(kind of like the Vikings but on the land) that would periodically attack villages(I think I'm making this up).
(7) been here since: here obviously mean the boat, but I just thought I'd clear that up fer ya.
(8) DRAMADIC POTC MUSIC PLAY AS SCENE ENDS, and sadly I do not own the dranadic pirates of the caribbean music either.
