Blood Lust (YYH)

The quick taps of four different pairs of feet met her ears as she waited patiently around the corner of a rundown apartment building. She was so still that she seemed to be one with the red bricks that she leaned her back against. There were not many people walking the streets this night and she wondered about these strangers who did not seem to care about the dangers of the city at so late an hour. They were speaking to each other.

"Man, that last demon was a cinch! They just keep getting dumber, don't they guys?!"

The voice that spoke the words was unpleasant to her sensitive ears. Too rough, as if the young man—and it was a male that had spoken—had recently gone through puberty. His voice seemed to still be in the thralls of adolescence. His footsteps were heavy and his strides were long, he was tall, she thought, and he lacked grace.

Another man spoke in answer to the first.

"Then you seem to have something in common."

This voice was more pleasant. Though rather unapproachable, nearly to the point of sounding cold. The owner of this voice was obviously trying to be rude to the first. His steps were quick and light, like a cat's almost. He must be small to make such slight noise when he walked—yet he spoke as if he had lived through many decades of history. Yes, this one was short, she thought, he took two steps for every one step that the other three took.

"Oh, c'mon Hiei, didn't you're mother ever tell you? If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all!"

So the second man was Hiei. And the third man was…familiar, had she met him before? She tilted her head to the side ever so slightly to catch the speakers voice. Yes, there was no mistaking it now, the cockiness of the voice was what had first attracted her to him. Of course, this boy had not seen her at the time. It had been during the late day, he was walking home from school—or so she had guessed. She had picked up his scent and followed after him, staying in the deepest shadows that the city buildings could provide. The moment before she was to attack—she had been interrupted by a young girl who had run up from behind her and to the boy. She had not felt the need for an audience, so the boy was saved. Maybe this night he would not be so lucky, she thought smiling lightly.

"No, she forgot to mention that as she was throwing me off a cliff."

That was Hiei.

"I thought that last battle would have put you into a good mood, Hiei."

Ah, finally the fourth and last boy spoke. His voice…was very pleasant. He said these words almost whimsically. She enjoyed it. His strides were strong as well as long. He was tall, though not as tall as the first, and he was sure of himself as he walked.

"Hn," said Hiei. "They were a waste of our time, Kurama."

Kurama and Hiei, the owners of the second and fourth voices—now what about the other two, she thought curiously.

They were currently only ten yards away from her corner. Very few people were on the streets now. She pondered for a moment on taking all of them at once. The street lights were either dim or flickering, this would easily work to her advantage. She was very hungry and the meal she had prepared to take seemed to be running late. She weighted her options for an instant longer before coming to a decision. Leaning forward, and standing straight, she withdrew her hands from the pockets of her black trench coat, readying herself.

Eight yards now. Yes, she would take them. The short one, Hiei would be first, she knew that he would be the fastest to act, so it was best to get him out of the way. Then she would take Kurama, after that, the owner of the third voice would die, and lastly, the tallest one would fall to her.

On the corner at which she stood, the streetlight suddenly flickered back to life. Damn, she thought ducking back into the shadows. She would have liked to take them in the dark.

The boys were now only four yards away. They were still speaking to one another, but she now focused her hearing on something else, what she had been waiting over two hours for.

A man came out of another apartment building around the corner and down the street. She heard him cough once as he locked the front doors to the building behind him. He went down the steps and crossed the street, heading away from her to a nearby strip joint. She had watched him before and knew that it was his habit to go to the bar to drink and get lap dances from girls who were usually not old enough to work where they did. And he would stay there for at least an hour or two before stumbling home drunk.

She wanted him. And she would have him. She waited until the man had walked the entire length of the street, to its very end before he rounded the corner. Then she stepped out from the shadows and went to follow him.

The boys were a yard away when she turned the corner and finally saw them. She noticed them first. The tall one she had first heard had rough features and reddish-blonde hair that seemed to be more orange than anything else, though it could have just been the harsh street lighting. He had gentle brown eyes and was as tall as she had thought he would be with broad shoulders and lanky limbs. His knuckles were red and slightly too large for his long fingers. He was a nail-biter, she noticed, and he smelled of cat. He was dressed in a blue school uniform.

The Hiei boy was shorter than she had expected with attractive, soft features. His hair was black with a shock of white going through it. His eyes, which at first seemed to be brown, now looked to be red. Yes, she thought, his eyes were red after all. He wore a white bandana around his forehead and other than that was dressed completely in black. He had his hands shoved in his pockets and his eyes were turned to the ground. Then she noticed a slight bulge on his left hip under his trench coat. She wondered at that for a moment before realizing that it was a katana—a type of sword. He must be very skilled if he can wield a weapon such as that, she thought.

Kurama walked next to Hiei and was very attractive, even to her eyes. He had lovely velvet red hair that curled into a graceful end just passed his shoulders. His long slender fingers brushed back a strand of hair from his face as he let out a light chuckle. His eyes were a bright green that seemed to hide a glint of mischief hidden in them, though they didn't hold as much as Hiei's did. He wore a light red suit with yellow lining on it. He was taller than she was by at least five inches, she noticed, if standing face to face, the top of her head would barely reach his chin. She also noticed that he smelled slightly of roses.

The last boy—the one she had recognized—had deeply brown eyes and black hair that was slicked back with too much hair gel. He was the third tallest among them, wearing a green school uniform. Everything about him was cocky, she thought. He didn't merely walk, but seemed to strut with his chest slightly puffed out. His build was lean, though strong, like Kurama's and Hiei's. The way he moved made her believe that he had spent more time on the street than she had previously thought, he looked like he had been his share of fist fights.

She noticed all this about the boys the instant she laid her eyes on them, then she turned her eyes to the sidewalk. The four went on talking for a few more moments before seeing her. Hiei saw her first and stopped in his tracks, his eyes went wide and his mouth hung slightly open. When the others saw his expression they paused in their walking and looked up, seeing her.

Kurama took a quick breath in and held it. The boy in the green uniform got a dazed look in his eyes as his mouth fell open in awe. And the boy in the blue uniform seemed to be having trouble holding the saliva in his own mouth.

She didn't wonder at these looks they gave her, she was exceedingly beautiful, though at times she forgot how she looked. Hers was a face that could literally stop traffic. She had a small slender nose and full lips, her soft cheek bones made the largeness of her eyes that more evident. And now she looked up, as if she had just noticed them, revealing the startling beauty of her eyes. Now the boys looked even more physically shaken than they had before.

The vastness of her serenely grey eyes captured their gaze so efficiently that she broke their stare only by allowing her trench coat to open up as if it had been blown by the wind. Underneath she wore a black bustier that well, did what it was meant to do. The top of her softly rounded breasts showed and around her slender neck a chain of silver hung with a single white gem that fell to the top of her chest, into her cleavage. The garment was leather and tied in the front, thin leather straps looped through the silver-rimmed holes, going from the top of the garment to the bottom, where it ended just past her naval. With that she wore a tight-fitted black skirt that was four or five inches above her knees, which were covered by her high-heeled black boots and fishnet stockings. Her long jet black hair fell passed her shoulders to the middle of her back.

She didn't make eye contact with any of them as she passed by. She slid her curvaceous figure between Kurama and Hiei and continued on, knowing that the boys were watching her every move. When she was only a few feet away from them, Kurama found his voice.

"Miss? Would you like us to walk you home?" he called.

"Uh, yeah! The streets can be pretty dangerous at night," said the boy in the green uniform.

Then the tall one spoke up, "Hehe…yeah, especially for a babe like you."

"Great way to pick up girls, Kuwabara." muttered the one in green under his breath.

"Hey, shut up Yusuke!" snapped Kuwabara furiously.

She smiled and stopped, turning around to look at them. As she met each of their gazes, they blushed deeply. She laughed warmly, tilting her head to the side almost in a flirtatious manner.

"Maybe another time, boys," she said and turned, continuing after her prey. Yes, she thought, Hiei, Kurama, Kuwabara, and Yusuke, another time.

She followed after the man and waited until he was fully drunk--which took a good two hours--and when he had finally come outside of the place to go home, she toyed with him a bit, stalking him, seeing how much noise she could make before he would notice and turn to look, of course she would not be there by the time it took him to turn his head, having already ducked into the deepest shadows. Then she grew tired of her games and went up behind the man, one hand closed around his mouth to muffle the screams and the second hand clamped tightly around his throat.

He fought against her of course, but he was very drunk and sluggish in his movements and she was much stronger than he was. She easily dragged him into an alleyway, enjoying his violent kicking as he tried to fight against her powerful grip. But it had been futile from the start...she had centuries of experience in the hunt, she was ageless, this was nothing to her, and he was nothing compared to her. She slammed him against the brick way, making him fall to the pavement in pain.

He looked up at her as she reached down to stand him back up. At this point she was tired of any games. She stood very close to him, allowing the man to get lost in her eyes. She bent her head to his neck, breathing in his scent. Intoxicating, she thought.

Then she covered his mouth again, this time the man didn't fight her. She then bent his head sharply to the side and slid her long fangs into his soft skin, feeling the blood pulse through him and into her. He moaned loudly in pleasure and after a moment, she joined him.

She bit her tongue a little, letting her blood drip onto his wound. It healed instantly. Then she backed away suddenly and the man fell to his knees before slowly tipping over so that he was face down on the cement. She waited for an instant longer, composing herself, then she turned without a second glance and went to walk the streets again. The hunt continued....
