Meryl was wakened by something she really wanted to hear.

Snake's horridly loud snoring. She covered her ears with her hands, pillow and even the tissue couldn't envelope the irritating noise. The more she tried to resist, the louder the snoring got.

Meryl sighed and gave in. She snuggled underneath Snake's arm and nuzzled against his chest. Even though the snoring annoyed her, Snake looked so cute when he was sleeping; his messy mullet all over the pillow with his stinky bandanna covering his eyes.

She glanced at a glistening ruby, diamond and emerald ring on her finger. The engagment ring Snake stole from a jewelry store that she wanted. It was of a rose, and on the band it said, 'I love you'.

They were together six years after Shadow Moses, and three after the Big Shell Crisis, and they were to marry in a month. She thought of everything they went through; the battles fought together from the hurtful tabloids to the undying support in Snake's missions. She held onto him tight.

Too tight. She had already woken him up.

"What're you doing up this early?" He rumbled.

"Your damn snoring." Meryl murmered in his warm skin.

Snake grumbled. "Sorry."

Meryl snugged into him even harder.

"Something wrong?" Snake traced his fingers against her cheeks.

"I'm thinking.."

"About?"

"Everything we've been through together. All the barriers that we broken. I wonder what else is in store now.."

"As long as our love is strong, nothing could take us apart," He leaned over and kissed Meryl's forehead. "We're not just lovers, but a team."

"Yeah?" Meryl gave a soft whisper.

"Mmm-Hmm.." Snake gave a soft murmur and kissed her lips.

"Mmm.." Meryl kissed back. "I love you.." Her lips were soft and moist.

"I love you too..."
