I hear the people yelling,

"Monster! Monster!" they cried out.

I ran to my mother in tears

But I find she is not there.

Humans see me as demon and fear me,

Demons see me as human and despise me.

But I am a hanyou- a half-demon.

Never whole, just a half of something.

Neither the one or the other,

Not a demon but not human either.

There is no place to belong-

No place for a half being like me.

So I decided to carve one out for me,

Forcing my way through a hostile world.

I wanted to be strong, not weak.

But when I did, I was all alone.

I had to rely on myself to survive-

There was no one else I could turn to.

Sometimes I wish that I could let it out

And become the monster they think I am.

I hear her voice calling for me

To go to her and join our friends.

I realized I am no longer alone-

This is where I belong now.
