Chapter 1

Disclaimer: Nope...don't own Inuyasha. And expect this to be the only chapter with a disclaimer…it's not like anything will change within the time I make my next update.

A.N. I haven't read many romance stories with Shippo being part of a couple...so I decided to try something a little different. And just because I say I haven't read many doesn't mean there aren't any...it just means I haven't found many. :p But if you would like to recommend some good Shippo romances I'm all ears. Leave one in a comment or something and I'll be sure to check it out.

Some other information that I thought I would throw in...some of the information such as the transformations is unfounded (you'll know what I'm talking about after you've read for a while maybe). I just made some of it up or twisted it a bit to go along with the story but as far as I know it should go along fine and I'm pretty sure you'll know what I'm talking about after you've read...if not I'll try and clear it up for ya.

Oh yeah...I also have not finished watching the whole series so maybe a few things might be off. Hopefully it won't but I just decided to give you a warning beforehand.

Couples: Inuyasha/Kagome, Shippo/Original Character. I'm not sure if any more couples besides that will show up...we'll see...I'm just full of surprises. ;)

Kagome sat in her room with her new born baby girl. After countless hours in labor she finally held her treasure in her arms. Not too far away Inuyasha stood with a proud look on his face. He had been happy just knowing their baby was healthy but he became completely ecstatic when he saw the completely adorable puppy ears on her head. She had beautiful silver hair to go along with her ears that definitely showed off her father's bloodline.

Kagome sat smiling at the newborn as she in turn gurgled. Kagome turned to look at Inuyasha, "Should we bring her back to show Kaede and the others?"

Inuyasha frowned, he wanted more than anything to be able to bring his baby girl back to show her off to the others. But they had already decided their daughter would be raised in Kagome's time. "You know we can't Kagome. It's too dangerous."

Kagome lowered her head sadly, but nodded her head in agreement. "I know...I just wish..."

Inuyasha nodded his head, "I know...I feel the same way. But at the same time we have to do what's best for our daughter."

'Our daughter...' Kagome thought, 'It still feels so unreal. Not that long ago I was just a girl myself. Now I already have a little girl of my own.' She stared down at her daughter thoughtfully with a smile on her face.

"She's beautiful." Inuyasha said as he came to stand next to Kagome.

"Yes...you know...in the face she looks a lot like I did when I was a baby. But the eyes, hair and ears are definitely you." She replied.

Inuyasha smiled proudly, "Can't contest with you there."

"You know...she needs a name." Kagome said.

Inuyasha looked thoughtful, "Hmm...how about Kagome." He finally said with a joking grin.

Kagome giggled, "I had an idea earlier."

"Well...let's hear it." He said.

"Well..." She hesitated.

Inuyasha raised an eyebrow waiting for her to continue.

"I had thought about maybe...what about...Inumi?" She finally spluttered out.

Inuyasha blinked for a moment as he rolled the name over in his mind. "I like it." He finally decided as he gave Kagome a smile. "Inumi..." He whispered as if to try out the name.

Kagome smiled, "She looks like she wants to sleep...let's put her in her crib."

Inuyasha carefully took his daughter and placed her in the crib. "You should probably get some rest yourself."

Kagome smiled, "Can't argue with you there." And then she lay down in her bed to get some well deserved rest.

Kagome awoke the next morning and decided to get up and check on her daughter. She arose out of the bed and made her way to the crib. When she was close enough to look inside the crib she gasped. She rubbed her eyes in disbelief as she crossed whatever distance was left between her and the crib. She pulled back the blanket slightly to look at the sleeping baby.

"This can't be right..." Kagome whispered.

Meanwhile Inuyasha had heard her gasp and was also making his way swiftly toward the crib. His jaw fell agape as he stared at the scene before him.

After a few moments in shock Inuyasha finally laughed, "How could I be so stupid?"

Kagome stared at him curiously, "What...what happened to her?"

"You mean you don't know?" Inuyasha said.

Kagome gave him an annoyed look, "If I did would I ask?"

Inuyasha picked up their daughter only she now had regular human ears and black hair, "Don't you know how I transform when there's a New Moon? She must have gone through her transformation last night."

Kagome seemed to understand now, "I guess that would make sense..."

"She looks a lot like you now." Inuyasha said as he stroked her soft black hair.

Kagome smiled, "She's beautiful...no matter what form she is in."

Inuyasha nodded his head as he placed their daughter back in the crib to finish out her nap.
