A/N: This is conclusion for now, but I'm going to leave this universe open for a possible continuance. Thanks to CCMcKenna for being my faithful reviewer in the early chapters, and to PrudenceHalliwell and Princess Pinky for being so loyal.
“I’ll get it!” Piper came down the stairs, dressed in a pale blue sweater and floral print skirt. Smiling, she opened the door. “Floral delivery”
”Who was that?” Prue came up behind her adjusting her earring.
”Flowers, from Andy” Piper replied playfully.
Prue didn’t bother to look at them, ”can you put them in water for me?”
”Uh, Prue...don’t you think you should at least call and thank him?” Piper held the flowers in her hands, feeling dumbfounded. It had been three days since they had vanquished Ashley and Prue had yet to speak to Andy.
”I’ve got a photo shoot at the beach in thirty minutes and I’m late” Prue called over her shoulder, hurried.
”You can’t keep avoiding him forever!” Piper shouted to a slamming door. “Okay, time to let the fingers do the walking. Promptly Piper took the flowers into the kitchen and picked up the phone.
A Few Hours Later: Moonlight Beach at San Francisco Bay
Prue sat barefoot on a large rock with her knees drawn up to her chest, staring dismally out into the water. She was wearing a white knit cap and matching cable knit sweater with jeans. It had now been several days since the nightmare of the dream sorcerer had ended but still the scars the remained. She still couldn't get over seeing Andy nearly die again. Demons, and warlocks would always be a part of her world.
"You want some company?" Prue looked up to see Andy wearing a red polo shirt, his brown leather jacket and jeans. His left arm was still in a sling. Evidently not all of the wounds caused by Ashley had been healed. Leo had said that for Andy to suddenly make a quick recovery would only draw more suspicion to the fact that magic revolved around the Halliwell family, not to mention that his shooting had been tagged as another one of those "unsolvable freaky cases"
Smling, Prue scooted over, making room for him, as he carefully hopped up on the rock settling beside her. "So how did things go with Susan?" she asked softly keeping her gaze fixated on the water. She was thankful to hear from Piper that Susan had finally gone back home and was out of Andy's life.
"Okay, more or less" Andy shrugged, "it's going to take her some time to get used to the idea that demons and witches actually exist but your secret is safe which is more than I can say for my relationship with her."
"I'm sorry," Prue replied softly shifting her green eyes, "Andy I never meant to hurt her or you"
"I know that," he said brushing a wind blown hair away from her face. The two stared at each other for several seconds before Andy broke the silence. "I've been worried about you
Prue"
Typical, Prue looked away, shaking her head, "Andy I'm fine"
"Right, that's why you haven't returned any of my calls," he chided zeroing in on her false state of self-confidence. "You've been avoiding me". Relationships outside of her family had never been Prue’s strong point. On the outside she was calm, confident super witch, but inside the thought of letting her heart go to someone else scared her to death. Unconsciously, she'd been that way ever since her mother died. Patty's death had been an emotional upheaval that at the age of 30 still plagued her.
"I thought you might need some space," Prue answered quietly, keeping her eyes fixated on the water.
“Space?” Andy picked up a small pebble and chucked it into the water, "Tell me something Prue do you love me?"
Prue's lips fell into a frown, "Andy you know I do"
Andy's gaze grew intense, "then why don't you trust me?"
"I do trust you, Andy. We've been over this a thousand times before. It's not you, it's me. I have abandonment issues"
Andy nodded, "that's why you cast a hate spell on me". This all had a familiar ring to it, "Sounds a lot like when you cast the truth spell"Prue didn't know what to say. Andy had always been able to read her like a book.
"You've always got to hurt me, before I can hurt you. Is that it? When are you going to get it through your head, I'm not going anywhere"
"Well maybe you should," she pointedly, "then that way one of us would be happy"
Andy shook his head, "You don't mean that. You're just afraid to commit"
"I tried to commit to Roger and he tried to sleep with Phoebe" Prue said dryly.
"I'm not Roger"
Prue's eyes narrowed sharply, seething her anger, "No you are worse, you died! I told you that I loved you and you died, just like Mom! Despite all the good, I do. You and Mom both Died!" Tears glistened in her eyes, "you both died!"
"Prue you can't stop death," Andy snaked his hand around the back of her head, pushing down towards his good shoulder, just letting her sob. After several minutes, Prue lifted her head and mopped the rims under her eyes.
”I hate him,” she said softly referring to the Angel of Death. “He takes everyone I love”
”He didn’t take me” Andy swiped a fallen tear from her cheek with the pad of his thumb.
”But he will”
Andy gave her a half smile as she went back to staring at the water. “That why your astral side has been cheating on me?”
Prue blinked incredulous, “how did you know about that?”
Andy shrugged, “I’m a detective remember?”
”I don’t know how to make it stop,” Prue admitted making her voice small. “I can’t control it and now that I have Cole’s demonic power, who knows what it will do”. Though Ashley had been killed, Cole’s blood still ran through her veins, allowing Prue the ability to shimmer and to create energy balls.
”Maybe you go see a witch doctor,” Andy teased, earning himself a pinch on the upper, arm
“Hey!”
”That wasn’t funny!” she growled through gritted teeth as Andy retaliated by tickling her midsection.
”Stop” she pleaded leaning back on the rock. Andy slid nearly on top of her pinning her with his body. “Not until you promise not to use your magic on me”
”Okay, okay” Prue giggled, “we’ll learn to work out our problems like regular couples. I just don’t where to start”.
”Trust in me” Andy whispered punctuating his words with kisses.
