It hurt. She knew she shouldn't let it, it wasn't as if she hadn't been expecting it. Torrance wasn't the type to brush off the comments like she was. She didn't have the experience of ignoring the whispered insults that went on when they didn't thinks she wouldn't hear. And her parents hadn't been anything short of appalled when they had heard she and Tor had been seen holding hands in the mall.
