Ursula Ford should have gone to Hogwarts when she was eleven; should got on the Hogwarts express, should have been sorted into Gryffindor and should have spent the next seven years as just another hapless student living under the rise and second reign of Lord Voldemort.

But Ursula didn't.

She slept in an unending coma that no magic could cure; her body motionless for years, deprived of life except for her steady breaths and slow but surely beating heartkeeping her alive.

She had no visitors to the small white room at St.Mungo's, for Ursula had been for many years an orphan with no family to her name.

The reasons for all of this were unknown to those who knew of her – the strange and unexpected dissappearance of her parents and younger sister was never explained, nor was the reason why Ursula alone had survive (if you wished to call it that).

And likewise no staff at the hospital for magical maladies could explain why on the first of september of what would have been Ursula's sixth year, she awoke quite suddenly – eyes straight open and wide, her face set with a look of grim determination.

To their great surprise the girl who had not moved an inch for over five years get up from her bed and demand to go to her rightful place in the world; to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
