Broken Chains- A Beast Wars, Generation 1 Crossover. Our story starts off in Tarantulaus' lair where he is working on a new weapon for Megatron. Megatron stands over the insane genious called Tarantulaus, keeping careful watch over his actions. Tar.- What's the matter Megatron, don't you trust me? Megatron- Only as far as I could blow you up. Tarantulaus gulps, and hits the start button on his new weapon. Tar.- Yes, yes! It works the time distortion beam works!(laughs histerically.) Megatron- I will be the judge of that, arachnid! Megatron calls Rampage into the lab. Megatron- Rampage I want you to take this device to the entrance of the Ark and set it up, after that contact me and I will activate it. Rampage- Hmm. And what if I don't? Megatron gets a grim look on his face and pulls out Rampage's spark and begins to squeeze it methodically. Rampage screams in agony. Rampage- I understand. Rampage picks up the device and carries it out of the room. Megatron- I don't trust him, no I don't. (outside the Ark, current Maximal base and ship that holds the original Autobots and Decepticons.) Rampage is setting up the device. Rampage- One day I will be free again, and then nothing will stop me! Rampage to Megatron, the device is ready. Megatron- Ah, excellent work Rampage. Now if you would wait there and make sure the device sends the Maximals a... hmm. How about(chuckles to himself) a million years into the past? Tarantulaus activate the time distortion beam! Tar.-Of course Megatron! Activating now! At the site Rampage watches as the device powers up preparing to send the Maximals and the Ark a million years into the past. But something goes wrong and device explodes sending the energy everywhere! Megatron- What happened! Rampage come in, Rampage? Rampage answer me! But Rampage can't hear him. Megatron reaches down to the box holding Rampage's spark to force him to answer, only to find the spark is no longer there. Meanwhile it is the year 1999, the Great War between the Autobots and the Decepticons is still raging. But it is about to get a new player in the game. Rampage wakes up to find himself, still in front of the Ark. But now it is uncovered and in good order. Rampage- What happened? Somethings different, yes I can feel it! I am whole again! That blast must have returned my spark to me, yes! Now Megatron will suffer! But thats not all that has changed, the time distortion beams destruction had carried him forward in time to the year 1999. And for some unknown reason had increased his size to that of a tank! Inside the Ark alarms sound, and alerts buzz. Prime- What do we got out there? A Decepticon? Bumblebee looks up at the screen. Bumblebee- Thats no decepticon I've ever seen before! And I wish I weren't seeing it now! Overhead the Decepticons ARE preparing an attack with Starscream leading the way. Starscream- What the ddevil is that!? The Autobots must have known we were coming! Decepticons, transform and attack! In succesion the Decepticons do just that, Starscream, Skyquake, and Ramjet transform, and begin attacking Rampage. Rampage- What! Hmm... maybe I won't be able to get to Megatron after all. It appears that stupid device actually worked! Rampage reaches back and pulls out his tri-cluster missile cannon. Rampage- Three targets, three missiles, perfect. Rampage shoots his cannon at the trio, hitting Skyquake and Ramjet, but Starscream manages to move out of the way. Starscream watches as his comrades fall to the ground in a heap. Starscream- I know when I'm beat, but this is not over! Starscream transforms to jet mode and flies away. Inside the Ark the Autobots have concluded that this new creature must be an ally. A BIG mistake. Prime- Open the doors, I want to shake the hand of this new friend we have! As the doors open Rampage turns to see, none other than Optimus Prime himself. Prime- Thank you friend! You have saved the day chasing off Starscream, and umm... stopping Ramjet and Skyquake. Rampage just looks at Optimus Prime and gets what can only be described as a smile on his face. Rampage- No, thank you. After all, since you were so kind as to all come out to meet me, (begins to laugh.) I can destroy all of you! Rampage beast mode! Quickly Rampage transforms into crab mode, the Autobots watch in disbelief. Rampage swings one of his massive claws toward Optimus, Optimus moves just barely out of the way, but Bumblebee isn't as lucky. Rampage catches the small Autobot in his claw and begins squeeving the life right from him. Brawn pulls out weapon and prepares to fire, but is stopped by Prime. Prime- No! You might hit Bumblebee! Rampage laughs insanely. Rampage- Your compassion makes you weak Prime just as it did Primal! Prime scratches his head. Prime- Primal? Who in the name of the matrix is Primal? Rampage smiles gleefully, and continues to squeeze Bumblebee. Just then he is hit in the back by an energy blast. Delivered no less than from the original Megatron himself! Rampage releases Bumblebee and turns to see who had dare attack him. Rampage- Hmmm, yes, this will do. You may not be the Megatron I truly want to destroy, but none the less devouring your spark shall bring me great pleasure! Megatron gets a confused look on his face. Megatron- What do you mean the Megatron you want to destroy? Who are you! Rampage turns and converts into tank mode firing all of his missiles towards the Decepticon leader. Megatron jumps out of the way but is still hit by one of the missiles. He screams out in pain. While Rampages back is turned the Autobots begin to fire at the distracted crab with all they have. It manages to knock Rampage over, but no other effect. As Rampage uses his massive claws to turn himself over the other Decepticons arrive. Megatron- Decepticons, if we wish to stop this thing we must work with the(he shudders) Autobots The Decepticons look at each other in disbelief. Megatron- Well? What are you waiting for? Attack! The Decepticons begin to fire upon the dazed Predacon and in moments the Autobots join in the attack. As Rampage's body begins to glow from the lasers, and missiles, he screams an agonizing cry and explodes! Amidst the rubble of what was just Rampage we see a glow, Rampage's spark. All stand in shock that it still seems to function. Prime- Well he definatly seems to have been Cybertronian, but exactly what was he? Too many questions left unanswered. Who is Primal? What did he mean by the other Megatron? And where did he come from? Megatron- Well Prime, those are questions that may never be answered. The two leaders look up at each other and realize that this battle is not yet over. Prime- Autobots prepare to attack! Megatron- Decepticons, attack! As the two groups go back to their regular lives, that is of trying to destroy each other, no one seems to notice Starscream has arrived, and digging through the wreckage comes across Rampage's eternal spark. Starcream picks it up and wonders how it could still be functional after Rampage's destruction. Starscream- This merits further study. Starscream transforms and dissappears into the air. -The End-
