Misspelled Love

A/N: Just a little Yuki/Shuichi I felt like writing… nothing too big; though the inspiration for this was… well… my little brother was irritating me as I tried to write, and I could just imagine the things Shuichi would do to get Yuki's attention while he was trying to write… every time I go to write my brother pokes me or tries to sit on me or rolls the chair beside me onto my toes… and it reminds me of Shuichi sometimes (in the annoying sense). –wince– I'm like Ryuichi all day long except when I write, then I turn into Yuki… NOBODY distracts me from my writing… my writing. – dangerous glare –

THIS WILL BE MULTI-CHAPTERED!!! NYAAA!!!

This fanfic is pretty well Yuki-centric, though not entirely.

Warning: It's Gravitation, is it really necessary to give a warning of shounen-ai and randomness? I didn't think so.

Disclaimer: I couldn't own Gravitation; it's beyond my literacy skills to write it so well… Gravitation is great, though. – smile–

Summary: Yuki has some deadlines to keep, and Shuichi isn't helping. Yuki doesn't need inspiration, he needs silence. What's an author to do? Angst/Humor/Romance [Yuki/Shuichi]

Chapter I – Baka Shuichi

Shuffle. ShuffleShuffleShuffle. Peek. ShuffleShufflePeek. Poke.

"Baka!" the first word that shot out of Yuki's mouth as Shuichi's finger was jabbed into his back, hitting a nerve. "That hurt!" but by the time Yuki had spun around in his chair to lecture the younger man, the pink-haired demon had already fled the scene.

Raising a hand, Yuki rubbed the spot between his shoulders where Shuichi had poked him, teeth clenched. Slowly he turned his swivel chair back around to face his laptop, lowering his hands back onto the keys he deleted the minor spelling error Shuichi's attack had caused him, though swiftly put it back into place. The irony of the situation… his lover had caused him to misspell the word 'love'.

"Baka Shuichi," Yuki muttered under his breath before getting back onto his line of thought, typing away at his novel once more. He was so close to being finished…

Poke.

"SHUICHI!" this time as Yuki spun in his chair to face Shuichi, he snatched Shuichi's wrist, firmly, not letting him get away as much as he squirmed. "Why do you insist upon bothering me? I can I please get this done without you in here for at least ten minutes? I'm nearly finished!"

"Ne, ne, Yuki!" Shuichi whined. "I'm hungry!"

"You know where the food is…" almost as soon as the words were out Yuki regretted them. "No, forget it. I don't want you in my kitchen," one never knew what could go wrong when Shuichi was put into a culinary position.

Shuichi looked up at Yuki with big, shiny puppy eyes. Yuki looked down at Shuichi, still holding onto his wrist, and gave him a glare. By now, Shuichi was on his butt on the floor, knees curled to his chest and one arm across his stomach. His other arm was helping support him on only his butt, Yuki holding onto the wrist of that arm.

"Yuki…" Shuichi whimpered.

Suddenly, Yuki released Shuichi's wrist. "I'll feed you later," once more Yuki turned back to his novel, and proceeded to type away at the final chapter.

Shuichi pouted, sitting on the floor cross-legged now. He stared at the back of the author's head, just staring. However, it didn't distract Yuki and he didn't turn around or change his mind.

An hour or so later, Shuichi was still in Yuki's office. He was lying on the floor now, staring at Yuki's feet, his stomach giving off low rumbles as if on a timer. As Yuki finished typing, he casually glanced over at the clock in the corner, sipping some coffee he had made himself earlier, neglecting Shuichi still. He leaned back in his chair slightly, coffee mug held in one hand, the other hand behind his head.

Yuki yelped when he felt Shuichi bite onto one of his bare feet. "Shuichi! Baka!" he said.

"Feed me!" Shuichi whined some more, looking up like a five-year-old wanting an expensive toy that he couldn't have.

"If you're going to bite me I'm not going to feed you!" Yuki knew it was harsh but… it was Shuichi he was dealing with. Had he been dealing with anyone else, he was sure it would have been far worse for them than it was for Shuichi right now. Though, perhaps not.

Tears began to well up in Shuichi's eyes. "Please, Yuki…" he said softly.

"No," Yuki snapped back, ignoring the watery eyes so that he wouldn't give in, he turned back to his laptop and scanned the final page to his novel before saving it and closing it, only to open up a half-written in document and suddenly begin to work on that. Shuichi groaned. He knew Yuki had a couple of deadlines to keep between now, December 2nd, and February 14th, but this was ridiculous. How many people worked on more than one novel at once? How did Yuki not get confused?

"Yuki! How do you not get confused? How many novels do you have to write by Valentine's day, anyways?" Shuichi asked grumpily.

In order to keep his patience longer, Yuki closed his eyes and rubbed one of his temples. "I just finished one for Christmas, and now I have to finish the second half of this one for Valentine's day. I don't get confused because I use my brain, unlike some of us here in the room."

"That hurt, Yuki."

Shortly afterwards Shuichi found himself booted out of Yuki's office and back in the living room, where he had started. With a sigh, Shuichi began pacing the living room, doodling pictures on scrap pieces of paper he found and listening to music, trying to find a comfortable position to lie on the couch. He did all this to keep himself occupied, and yet nothing seemed to satisfy him more than attention from his novelist.

"Oops…" Shuichi muttered as he accidentally spilled the tea he had made himself all over the coffee table and onto the floor. Getting up, Shuichi marched down the hall in search of a towel to clean up the mess.

After he found a towel and cleaned up the mess, he walked passed Yuki's office on his way to the bathroom and peeked inside. Yuki was sound asleep in his chair, head on the keyboard of his laptop. Shuichi couldn't help but give a small smile. Once he used the bathroom, he got a blanket off Yuki's bed and walked back into his office.

Gently he draped the blanket over the writer's shoulders and placed a light kiss on top of his head. "Kawaii, Yuki."

Careful of Yuki's novel, Shuichi removed Yuki's head from the keyboard, setting it on the desk beside it, and erased all the repeated 'y's that had found themselves on the pages of Yuki's novel when his head had fallen to greet the keyboard.

Saving Yuki's progress, Shuichi shut down the laptop and closed it. He then tiptoed out of the room, doing his best not to wake his lover.

---

"Yuki!" Shuichi charged down the hall and into the office. At the sight, he became silent. Yuki was still sound asleep. "Ne, Yuki," slowly, Shuichi walked over to him. He gently shook his shoulder. "Yuki-Yuki?"

Shuichi received a small grunt in reply, and Yuki turning his head to bury it in his arms further.

With a faint smile, Shuichi got a sheet of paper and a pen, and scribbled down on it where he would be and until when, then left it atop Yuki's shut laptop and quietly left the room, then the apartment. Shifting his bag on his shoulder, he walked towards Hiro's house. He was planning to have the day with just himself and Hiro, then go back to spend dinner and the remainder of the night with Yuki.

He and Hiro had been planning this a while, since the two had rarely had a moment together except to do work, and they were friends… that didn't do very good for their friendship, and so they had organized to spend the day together.

Shuichi hummed as he walked along the sidewalk, soon reaching Hiro's. Hiro was standing outside, leaning against the wall of the building, waiting patiently for his pink-haired best friend.

"La li ho, Hiro!"

"Hello, Shu-chan," Hiro greeted, smiling. Shuichi grinned.

"Park?" Shuichi inquired, and Hiro nodded in agreement.

"To the park it is," he said, and then walked off with Shuichi towards the park. Once the two reached it, they sat down on a small hill, and Shuichi put his bag down. The bag was full of goodies that he had brought for him and Hiro to eat for lunch.

The two boys talked about several things; how their lives were going at the moment, and Shuichi confirmed for Hiro that things with Yuki were going about as smoothly as they ever would, and there was no use in Hiro worrying about him. Yuki hadn't kicked him out of the house recently and he had even been trying to keep his patience with Shuichi more often. It made Shuichi feel loved.

Hiro was, naturally, glad to hear this. At least Yuki was getting better…

"Hey, Shuichi?" Hiro asked as they began to eat some sandwiches that Shuichi had made, at least Shuichi could make those without making some sort of crazy mistake. The sandwiches were, in fact, quite good.

"Hm?" Shuichi looked at Hiro, his mouth full so he only made a sound of acknowledgement.

"Have you ever thought of getting a pet?" Hiro tilted his head a little as he addressed the question.

"Yuki wouldn't like it… he says they're too loud…" Shuichi replied. "Why?"

Hiro shrugged a little. "It might be nice for you to have a companion once in a while on days that I'm too busy or late at night if Yuki gets mad at you or something… it's better than just yourself, isn't it?" he asked. "Either way, you don't have to get something loud… fish aren't loud."

"Fish?"

"They aren't loud and they're easy to take care of; you don't have to take them out for walks or play with them. You just need to feed them and keep their bowls clean."

Shuichi thought this over a little. "Hm…" he finished the last bite of his sandwich. "Will you come and look for a fish with me?" he asked. Hiro nodded slightly once, and Shuichi grinned once more. "Let's go!" he said, jumping to his feet, though he ended up losing his balance and doing a face plant. Hiro just smiled and shook his head, then helped Shuichi up.

"All right, let's go," Hiro said.

With a cheer, Shuichi bolted out of the park, while Hiro simply walked out behind him.

---

"And I will call you Eiri-chan," Shuichi smiled as he watched the golden-scaled goldfish swim in circles in its fishbowl, then pick at some of the colourful pebbles that rested at the bottom. There was a small, plastic, pink water plant in the bowl as well, and a small model of a castle. "Cute little fishy…"

"What are you doing?" Yuki asked as he walked into the room, though his light eyes fell on the fishbowl and the golden fish inside of it. "Nevermind, then… why did you get a fish?"

"Hiro told me it might be a good idea," Shuichi responded. "Fish aren't loud though, and I can take care of him. I'll take good care of Eiri-chan."

"You named it after me?" Yuki gave Shuichi a look between a glare and a look someone would give an insane person. "I… think I'm going to go to bed," he turned on his heel and headed to his bedroom. Shuichi got to his feet and bounced after him, though.

"Yuki! You've been sleeping all day!"

Yuki entered his bedroom and stretched, Shuichi still following at his heels. "You make me tired…"

"Wah! You're so mean, Yuki-Yuki!"

Rolling his eyes, Yuki snatched up his pajamas, and changed right there, not caring that Shuichi was in the room… Shuichi was too busy crying to begin with. "Can you be a little quieter, at least?" Yuki asked, as he lay down on his bed and tucked himself in. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep, he wasn't tired anymore, but he didn't want to put up with Shuichi, either.

There was suddenly silence.

Yuki turned his head to look towards the bedroom door. Shuichi had disappeared, although Yuki could still hear him shuffling through the apartment, vainly attempting to be quiet so he wouldn't bother Yuki.

A small smirk found its way onto Yuki's lips. "Baka Shuichi. Aishiteru…"

Ah… silly Shuichi, naming the fish Eiri-chan. Fish! I want my pet fish back… but all 18 of them DIED… and one of them ate my snails. oO Yerp. Anyhow, I hope you all liked that chapter. Hiro's advice is always a good thing to follow… -grin- of course. Though I don't know how much Yuki likes the fish; it appears he doesn't like it too much.
