Catherine sits in Gils office crying over the last case. She has her back to the door and doesn’t notice Gil enter the room.

“hey. I wandered where you were.” Gil says, not noticing that she is crying.

“oh. Um, I just wanted to be alone.” Catherine says wiping tears away while standing up to leave. “I’ll go if you need your office.”

“what’s wrong Cath? Why are you crying? Is it Lindsey, is something wrong with her?” Gil asks as he puts his arms around Catherine.

“no not Lindsey. Well not directly.”

“then what is it?”

“the last case I was on... the mom she had killed her daughter, she was only 13, a child. But the thing that has really got to me is the fact that it was over the moms boyfriend.” Catherine wipes away more tears, and steps out of Gils arms. “she hadn’t been able to see that her child was more important, the best thing she had ever been given.”

“it’s okay Cath, you’re allowed to show your feelings. But how does Lindsey come it to this?”

“if I didn’t have Lindsey then I wouldn’t be so hooked up on it, would I.” Catherine smiles at what she to herself about what she is about to say. “you know for a scientist you can be quite dumb.”

“hey.” They both start laughing. “I’m nearly done here, so do you want a lift home?”

“that sounds nice. Thanks , Gil, thanks for every thing.”

“everything? What’s everything?” Gil says blankly.

“well ever since I have meet you, you have been there for me. Through every thing, Eddie, the fire, Sam.”

“I see now. But I have done nothing more than what any man would do for...” Gil thinks for a minuet as he knows that he’s about to say could change there relationship forever.

“what. What would every man do for who?” Catherine’s confused now.

“for the woman he loves.”

Catherine edges towards him so they are inches apart. “I love you to.” Then she place her lips on his, so he can’t reply to what she juts said.

Gil kisses back. When the kiss ends he says. “what? Since when? Why”

“since, for ages. And because your you.”

Catherine plants another kiss on Gils lips and then they walk arm in arm through the lab to Gils car. The relationship changed for the better.
