Chapter One: Their mistake

It's been 4 years since Jeremy found an antivirus for Aelita. Materialized her, and Shut down Xana. So now all that he had to worry about were normal teenager problems. Now he and Aelita were dating, so were Yumi and Ulrich even Odd had found a girlfriend. But tonight Jeremy faced his biggest and most difficult challenge. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a black velvet box for he intended to propose to Aelita. Jeremy gave himself a once over in the mirror he was wearing a light blue buttoned up shirt, white slacks, and black dress shoes. He had even started to wear contacts at first it was just to humor his parents, but he grew to like them. He did a final check to make sure he had everything once he was sure. He left to pick up Aelita. "Here goes nothing," he thought as he walked down the street.

--Meanwhile-- --

Aelita had just gotten ready. She wore a pink silk blouse, a black skirt that came down to her ankles and pink heels.

"Well you're looking nice tonight," a voice said suddenly causing Aelita to jump.

"Oh, Yumi you startled me," Aelita said as she tried to calm her racing heart

"Sorry, so what’s the occasion?" Yumi asked,

"Not really sure Jeremy just said he was taking me out tonight,” Aelita said, as she looked herself over.

"Hmmmm," Yumi said with a bit of a smirk.

"What's that about?" Aelita asked.

"Nothing you just go have a good time with Jeremy," Yumi had no sooner said this when the doorbell rang.

Aelita and Yumi came down the stairs; Aelita opened the door to reveal Jeremy.

"You look beautiful tonight Aelita." Jeremy said as he caught sight of her.

"Thank you," She said blushing.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Yeah lets go," Aelita responded as they left.

Jeremy took Aelita out to eat at a somewhat expensive restaurant, followed by ice cream in the park, finally a stroll on the beach. They were laughing, joking, and having a good time just enjoying each other’s company. They eventually wound up back at Jeremy's dorm once they were in he locked the door this was the moment of truth and he didn't want it ruined.

"Have a seat," he said while gesturing to the bed Aelita sat down and Jeremy joined her.

"Aelita did you enjoy tonight?" He asked,

"Very," She responded

"Do you like being with me?" he asked these questions were racking his nerves, but they had to be asked,

"Of course I do, I would stay with you forever if I could Jeremy," she said while taking his hand.

Jeremy breathed a sigh of relief as he reached into his pocket a pulled out the ring box,

"That can be arranged," He said as he presented her with the ring, Aelita gasped when she saw it. Her heart was racing as he rose and knelt in front of her.

"Aelita I love you more than life itself, you are my world my everything without you I have nothing," he said but paused briefly to get a breath

Aelita sat in anticipation this pause was killing her she wanted to scream at him to continue but reigned her emotions.

"Aelita will you marry me?" Jeremy asked,

Aelita's mind was in a complete rush but despite the hurricane inside her head she knew her answer.

"Yes I'll marry you," she said with joyous tears streaming from her eyes.

A huge smiled appeared on Jeremy's face as he slipped the ring on her finger. He then wrapped his arms around her. Aelita loved it when Jeremy held her. She then felt his lips move across her cheek, she took a deep breath as his lips connected with hers. The kiss started out slow and gentle but it began to grow in intensity and passion. Soon their kisses were stronger than ever before. They began to be consumed with years of pent up passion, and desire. It wasn't long before neither one of them were aware of what they were doing. During a break for air Aelita began to unbutton Jeremy's shirt. They soon went further then they knew they should have.

--Later-- --

Yumi paced the floor Aelita was 3 hours late. She returned to pacing her parents had gone on a cruise leaving her in charge. She knew that if her parents found out Aelita had been out this late they would never trust her again.

"It's okay I know because Aelita will walk through that door any second," Yumi said to herself, "Yep any second," five minutes later she said

"I'm gonna kill those two."

It wasn't long before Yumi heard a sound from outside it was the sound of a key sliding into a lock. Yumi watched as the deadbolt opened and Aelita entered. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was something different about her. Aelita relocked the door as quietly as she could; she obviously was trying not to wake Yumi.

"It's no good." Yumi said suddenly causing Aelita to yelp and jump,

She eventually covered her heart with her hand. She was breathing hard trying desperately to control her rampaging heart. Yumi saw this and thought 'She must've really been on edge'

"So, where have you been?" Yumi asked seriously, "You're 3 hours late."

"Sorry me and Jeremy got a little carried away," She said while ignoring the voice in her head that sarcastically said "A little,"

Yumi wore a look that said one thing "Explain,” Aelita knew Yumi would blow her top if she knew the truth, but she didn't want to lie, so she decided to tell the truth just not the whole truth. Once her mind was made up she showed Yumi her left hand. When Yumi saw the ring her expression shifted from anger to shock.

"Jeremy proposed to me," she said with her usually cheery smile,

"Wow uh congratulations," Yumi said as her moods shifted again this time from Shock to Joy

She embraced Aelita with a big hug. She winced but recovered before Yumi noticed. Aelita once again had a smile on,

"Yeah all the excitement drained me, all I want to do is get a bath and go to bed," she said with a pleading look,

"Alright, just don't pull a stunt like this again I was worried,"

"I'm promise goodnight Yumi," Aelita said as she climbed the stairs. Once she was out of sight Aelita let the facade drop. Tears welled in her eyes as she grabbed a towel from the closet and her nightclothes. She knew what she and Jeremy had done was wrong that was one of the first things that she learned in the real world, But Jeremy was her fiancée when it happened didn't that make it okay. She entered the bathroom and started her shower. Once the shower was ready she climbed in the warm water felt good against her skin she hoped the water would wash away any evidence of that night, but she carried a mark that no amount of water, or soap could clean. Her mind was asking questions that she didn't have answers for. She just let the warm water run over her body. Her mind drifted back to Jeremy she had left him sleeping on his bed with a note saying that she had to get home. A small smile graced her lips even though it was wrong she had felt nothing but love from Jeremy, and she wouldn’t trade that for anything. The water began to go cold Aelita shut the water off climbed out dried off and changed into a pair of grey sweatpants and a pink t-shirt. She walked over to her bed and climbed in. She soon fell asleep with the memories of that night burned forever into her memory. “Jeremy,” Aelita whispered solemnly before falling asleep. Aelita didn’t notice the figure standing in the door. She knew Aelita wouldn’t lie, but something wasn’t right with this picture. She knew Aelita had seemed different, sure she was engaged now, but somehow she knew that there was something else she was hiding. Yumi wasn’t going to force her to tell, but whatever it was she could sense it. They had always been like sisters, but ever since Yumi’s parents adopted Aelita as their own that connection had grown stronger. Yes you heard right Yumi’s parents had adopted Aelita. “Why?” you ask, “It’s quite simple,

Flashback Shortly after Xana had been defeated Yumi’s mom and Dad wanted to meet Aelita’s parents, because they wanted to meet the people who had in their minds raised such a wonderful daughter. Unfortunately Yumi and Aelita couldn’t shake Mr., and Mrs. Ishiyama on this one, so they were forced to tell the truth. They weren’t believed, so how’d they prove it by taking them to the factory. They were shown the scanners, the super calculator, and Xana’s tower. (That black thing that rises from the floor) “I don’t believe my eyes,” Mr. Ishiyama said,

“Me neither,” Mrs. Ishiyama replied.

“So, let me get this straight.” Yumi’s Dad began, “You’re from a virtual world called Loko?”

“It’s Lyoko,” Yumi answered.

“Then how’d you get here?”

“The same way Yumi got into Lyoko,” Aelita said, “Via the scanners,”

“You mean those gold cylinder things,” Mrs. Ishiyama asked.

Aelita and Yumi merle nodded.

“How long have you been going to Lyoko Yumi?”

“About 2 and a half years,”

“Two and a half,” Mr. Ishiyama said in disbelief, before turning to Aelita, “Then why did you just now come to earth.”

“It’s simple, “Aelita said, “because I didn’t have physical form on Earth I couldn’t be devirtualized like Yumi, Ulrich and Odd could.”

“So, then how?”

“Jeremy,” Aelita said smiling and blushing a little, “He wrote a materialization program to bring me to Earth, It just took a while.’

Aelita was glowing in memory of what Jeremy had done for her.

“It took him two and a half years to finish it,” Mr. Ishiyama asked.

“No it took just a bit more than a year,” Aelita said then continued, “But, during my first transfer to Earth Xana had infected me with a virus that tied my life to his, It took the remaining year and three months for Jeremy to find an antivirus.” (I don’t know if my time table is correct so just bare with me)

“I see,” was all Yumi’s dad said, “What do you think?” he asked his wife,

“I’ve always wanted another daughter,” Mrs. Ishiyama said, Everyone just looked at her blinking curiously, “Aelita is a wonderful child, and quite the braniac according to the school,” Mrs. Ishiyama said while smiling, “Since she doesn’t have a family of her own why don’t we become her family?”

Yumi looked at her dad expectantly who seemed deep in thought. He soon lifted his head and looked at Aelita before saying, “Why not.” Yumi and Aelita were beyond happy after that day she was Yumi’s sister both mentally and lawfully. They came up with a reasonable story and the rest is how they say history.

End Flashback

Yumi watched Aelita sleep. In two months they would be moving into their own Apartment with Ulrich, Odd, and Jeremy for they had all managed to get into the same college. Ulrich was going into Literature arts, Odd was going into the Art program, and Yumi was also going into Lit. While Aelita and Jeremy were going into Computer Science. Yumi once again left her thoughts to watch Aelita sleep.

“Maybe I’m just being paranoid,” Yumi thought as she changed for bed.

She climbed into her bed and once more glanced at Aelita she couldn’t shake the feeling She had been having since Aelita had come home. Shrugging it off Yumi feel asleep thinking,

“If something had happened I’m sure Aelita would have told me.” Was her last thought before sleep claimed her.

Unfortunately Yumi didn’t know how wrong she was, because across the room Aelita was dreaming about the love of her life, and unbeknownst to either one of them Aelita’s hand was subconscienciously caressing her stomach as if her body knew something she didn’t yet.

Well that’s it chapter one is done I hope ya like. I apologize in advance for the way this may appear it was mostly written while I was in Oklahoma for my brother’s wedding. He didn’t wave Microsoft Word only WordPad so I had to cope and really didn’t feel like rewriting the entire chapter. I made some changes to that part of the chapter so it shouldn’t be too bad well I’m out later do forget to leave a review bye now
