The black eyes of a seething Severus glare down at Hermione after his tirade.

Unafraid, Hermione's brown eyes glower in return as she snaps back at him.

"How dare you – you rejected my feelings for you before as an 'immature fancy,' and then when Remus takes an interest in me you come to my flat and start ranting about his 'unsuitability'. Why?"

"Because he will not love you the way I do!" Severus growls in harsh admission and then kisses her, the truth having burst from his formerly icy heart.

"Severus, you are unbelievable!" Hermione whispered much later.
