One day things will be okay. Things will be perfect. They'll pack up, tour Europe, find their perfect place and settle in. Get married and have kids with a great taste in music, and they'd all go to shows together. They'll be the perfect family but not in a cheesy, Brady Bunch way.

One day she'll be able to look at herself in the mirror without feeling sick. And they could have sex whenever they want, not having to worry about parents catching them. They'll flip through photo albums and say, "Yes, that's Grandpa and Grandma", and find excuses for why their children couldn't meet said grandparents. They'd show photos of their high school romances and smile nostalgically, smiling at how funny the world is and how wonderful that things turned out all right after all. And it wouldn't matter that they'd been apart for several years because they'd have made everything work by then. Everything would just fit. It had to, becuase if things didn't work out between them, there would be no logic in the world.

So all those things just had to happen, one day. But not just now. So Lorelai packs her bags and leaves.
