Nora and Matthew arrived a short time later at the Country Club. Nora looked around for Daniel.
"I don't see him," she said feeling a little disappointed.
"Maybe he's not coming," Matthew said hopefully. Nora looked around some more until she finally spotted Daniel by the pool, already in his swim trunks. He looked over and saw her staring at him; he smiled at her. She was frozen to the ground; having until this point only seen him in his daily business suits, she was paralyzed with shock.
"Ooh, mom, there's Starr and Travis. I'm gonna go over and say hi."
"Sure," Nora said without taking her eyes off of Daniel. Matthew hurried over to his friends, and Daniel came over to Nora.
"You finally made it," he said smiling.
"Yeah, I, uh – sorry, Matthew, he was uh – you know, taking just… forever," she stuttered. "You, um… you – you look – you, uh…" She sighed pitifully at herself. "I'm sorry –" she began, but Daniel slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her hip towards his.
"You're really cute when you can't string two words together." Nora blushed uncontrollably. "So it looks like we might actually have an afternoon alone together. I'm surprised Matthew didn't try to get Bo to come here to interrupt us."
"Bo who?" Nora draped her arms over his shoulders and led him into a soft and passionate kiss.
