Memories of The Dandelion Days

by crazylittlecheezer

Disclaimer - I, in no way, own Inuyasha or its characters. Not that anyone would have thought I did. Now on with the story.

One battle lost, was to forever change the rest of my days. I know when I say this people find it hard to understand. However, I rarely explain it. Her story cannot be summed up in a number of sentences - and it certainly cannot be told easily. Despite a passage of many years, the people who knew me that year still believe in my story, and I still believe in them.

Many seasons have passed since that fateful day of adventure and sorrow. My life has continued as it should, however, often times, I find myself wishing for the chance to turn back time and live that fateful day again. Perhaps I would have chosen a different path - perhaps not. Sadly I can only relive the memories in my mind; some happy, some sad - though all worth remembering.

As I leave the safe and serene comfort of the Western Lands I can feel the brisk spring breeze tangling my silver hair and groping my flawless skin. As I look around, I can see the oleander blossoms beginning to bloom and within them the bright dandelions peak through with their bright yellow heads - like a rash coming up under the overcast sky. The air is cool, though the dandelions promise to bring warmer weather and rain.

I begin to walk to that place, the one where everything began and ended so quickly. I suddenly feel the memories flooding back into my mind. I take a seat, by a tree, the same tree I occupied so long ago. Around me, the world begins to change and as the world changes I can feel myself changing too. My my graying emotions return to their once untainted form and my mind regresses. Next to me appears a young girl, very youthful in age. Her hair is black and her eyes forever a beautiful honey brown - this is how I will always remember her - the one who changed my life forever.

After a while I realise I have closed my eyes and as I open them I pause. The world has once again become older and so have I. Gazing out past the trees infront of me I see a small creek, one that is very familiar, yet not close at all and I remember, just for a moment, how beautiful the world is. As I continue to stare at the beauty around me my eyes catch a patch of lone dandelions untouched by the oleander blossoms, and a smile comes to my lips. It was only a memory - and not really mine, but it stayed strongly within my heart; the dandelions, which she used to pick, reminded me of her - my little one. The dandelion days had returned and with them, so did my angel - my Rin.

Well everyone...this will forever remain a one-shot. I always wanted to write a story like this and Sesshomaru and Rin seemed to be the characters to best fit this type of story. Hope you all liked it. Please review! ;-)
