Hello! waves My name is Cassie. But you may call me BOE! NEWAYS this is my first EVA Yu Gi Oh based fic, until now I have written Beyblade and DBZ fics. So ANWAY on with the fic
This is a Yami/Bakura……aka Yami Yugi / Yami Bakura. But in this they will be known as Yami and Bakura. It’s just easier. NEWHO….. this has no timeline, YAOI, I don’t think that it has NE swearing? I don’t remember, I guess you’ll have to read it and find out! On with the fic. Enjoy
Soul searchingBakura stared blindly into the darkness that was his soul room. The place he called home, where he spends almost all his time. The same place he tries to remember, remember the things that were lost to him over the years. The empty space in his mind of which needed to be re-discovered. Bakura knew that the memories where in there somewhere, he just needed time to find them. But now was not it. He had unfinished business with the pharaoh. Soul searching would have to wait.
“I know your cheating pharaoh!” Bakura growled. Glancing at the tiny dog on the bored. Yami laughed.
“I’m not cheating, you know I’m not! You just can’t accept the fact that you are losing” Bakura picked up the dice and rolled.
“I am not losing! I’m just at a small disadvantage”
“Oh yes! A disadvantage of a few thousand dollars. Oh but that doesn’t matter, because with your skills you’ll come back” Yami declared. Bakura checked his roll, and moved 7 spaces.
“Do I sense a hint of sarcasm?” Bakura moaned inwardly as he noticed what he had landed on. Yami laughed.
“That will be” He glanced at his card. “$1350” Bakura reached for his few remaining dollars and grinned.
“I’ll duel you for that house” He announced pointing to Mayfair. Yami arched an eyebrow.
“No Tomb thief, I’m NOT duelling you! We’ve been through this before! I don’t trust you” Yami said taking the dice.
“What do you mean you don’t trust me?…… I’m trust worthy!”
“Do we have to go through this AGAIN, look I don’t trust you, my host doesn’t trust you, HELL even your host doesn’t trust you!”
“What the hell do you mean my host doesn’t trust me? Ryou trusts me just fine!” Bakura yelled watching Yami clench the dice into his fists.
“Have you seriously convinced yourself that?”
“What do you mean? It’s true!” Bakura glared at the other spirit, almost as if he were staring right through him. “I know what you think of me, but I have changed! And my hikari knows that! We have a relationship that I doubt you could EVER comprehend” Yami smiled. Some people may not have heard it, but Bakura’s voice bounced, defending his and his lights relationship was not something Bakura does very often, if ever.
“Look Bakura I didn’t mean to offend. But you have to admit…”
“I don’t care what you think Pharaoh! Your thoughts mean nothing to me!” Bakura roughly through the small amount of money in his hand to the ground and stood up. “I really don’t need to take this crap!!” Yami followed suit and stood also.
“I know that you think that I’m the one in the wrong, but maybe you should have a closer look at yourself. Have you even stopped insulting Ryou?” Bakura didn’t answer.
“Have you once ever said a nice thing to him?” Bakura still didn’t answer. “Well I rest my case! Ryou deserves better than you! And you know it” Before he could say another word he was pushed up against the wall, with one of Bakura’s hands on either of his shoulders.
“You have NO right to say anything like that! I AM good to my light. And he knows that, he respects and trusts me for who I am!” Bakura flinched. “ I don’t need you prying where you don’t belong!!” Yami tried to release himself from the tomb robbers grip but he couldn’t budge. Bakura was silent, he had never dared lay a finger on the Pharaoh in the past, this being the first time he had ever been so close, or was it. There was something familiar about it. It was slight but it was there. There was a pleasant but weak scent to the pharaoh, yet it was not new to Bakura. A feeling stirred within him, a feeling he had felt before. He no longer wanted to beat the crap out of the other spirit; instead he wanted to embrace it. The thought was much to familiar, he couldn’t handle it Bakura hastily turned and collapsed on to the ground, in shock.
“What’s wrong?” Yami asked sitting next to him. Bakura didn’t answer.
“Did you remember something?” Bakura vaguely nodded. Yami lent over.
“Do you want to talk about it?” With out moving his body, Bakura turned his head so he was looking at Yami, his face so deadly close.
“Bakura, I can help….”
“No you can’t! This is something I need to figure out for myself!” He said in his desperation, viciously standing. Trying to stop himself from doing something more daring. He stormed toward the open door, before turning briefly to look back at his counterpart.
“Ask yourself one thing pharaoh, what is it that we have?” Bakura took in a deep breath. “We have never been anything but sworn enemies, so what makes you think that in this time we can be…… friends” He almost sounded sickened by the word. Yami raised an eyebrow in question as he stood.
“What makes you think that we can’t be friends? What did you remember that offers the contrary?” Bakura thought briefly.
“Nothing…….. Interesting” Yami folded his arms.
“Seriously, Bakura. Tell me, I have a right to know” Bakura snorted.
“What right’s do you hold? I see none!”
“We both reside from the same time and place, so anything you remember I think that you should also tell me” Without even bothering to reply, Bakura left the room. But Yami wasn’t going to give up that easily, so he followed the other down the hall.
“Bakura, don’t you dare ignore me!!” Bakura turned around sharply.
“If you didn’t notice, Yami, you are no longer pharaoh! You cant just order me around!” He said crossing his arms. Yami rolled his eyes.
“I don’t understand what you don’t want to tell me?” He paused, and grinned. “Is it personal?” Bakura glared as his face flushed slightly.
“That’s not funny!!” He fumed.
“Why? Is it true?” Yami asked, almost laughing as Bakura bowed his head
“…… maybe……” Yami grinned.
“Well you don’t have to tell me if its something embarrassing”
Bakura was quick to react. “But its not”
“Ok well tell me what it is then” A smile teased the corner of Yami’s mouth as he spoke. Bakura jumped. “No! And don’t ask me again!”
“Bakura….”
“I’m not listening!”
“Stop being such a….”
“I cant hear you!”
“Yes you can! Now stop that”
silence
“Bakura are you ignoring me again?”
silence
“Bakura stop acting like such a child”
“I’m not”
“Ahh so now you’re talking”
“No I’m not”
“What?”
silence
“Just tell me” Yami pleaded.
“Nah… you don’t want to know”
“Yes I do….. “ Yami grinned. “You do know that I have another way to get this information” He said rubbing his puzzle. Bakura’s eyes grew wide.
“You wouldn’t!” Yami thought.
“Ahhh, yes I would, and you never know what else I may find out” Yami winked. Bakura growled.
“Why can’t you just leave it?” He yelled swiftly turning and leaving. Yami shifted his weight to his other leg.
“Bakura! Don’t make me threaten you again!” He began to follow the quickly escaping thief.
“You stay away from me!!”
“Come on Bakura! Be reasonable!” Bakura entered his room and slammed the door behind him. Yami turned the nob and pushed the door, but it was locked.
“FINE! If your going to be like that!” He exclaimed turning sharply to sit in the hall chair opposite Bakura’s room, glaring at the door in front of him, as if willing it with his mind to open.
After almost 5 minutes, Yami got impatient. He stood, and slowly moved to the door. Holding a fist up he threw it to the door, again and again.
“Let me in Bakura!!” After 5 minutes of uncontrollable banging, Yami heard Bakura’s voice.
“WOULD YOU STOP IT!!!” Yami stopped, and frowned.
“So are you going to let me in” He heard Bakura’s sigh from inside the room.
“Will you shut up if I do?” Yami grins crossing his fingers behind his back.
“Yes” He hears Bakura standing and moving to the door.
“Are you crossing your fingers?” Yami looks down at his fingers and smirked.
“No, so are you going to let me in or not?”
“sigh Ok”
“Good, so unlock the door”
“No”
“What?”
“It’s not locked, you just have to pull it stupid!” Bakura laughed. Yami looked blank, and slapped a hand to his head. He pulled the door open and casually walked in.
Bakura stepped back to his bed and sat. Yami follow suit and sat next to him, and sighed.
“So are you going to tell me?” Yami whined.
“But you said that you’d leave it alone!” Bakura growled. Yami grinned.
“Yeah, well I lied” silence “If you tell me what you remembered I’ll tell you what I remembered” He offered innocently.
“You remembered something? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME!?!?!?!” Bakura yelled. Yami shrugged.
“You didn’t ask”
“Well what if I don’t want to know what you remembered, it’s probably not important anyway!”
“Fine!”
“Fine”
“Fine”
“FINE!” Bakura yelled crossing his arms stubbornly.
silence
“Fine” Yami declared, claiming the last word.
silence
Yami fidgeted with his puzzle, he leaned forward looking at Bakura who was trying to turn away so he didn’t have to look at the desperate eyes. Yami sat up on his knees.
“Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez tell me!” He pleaded. Bakura moaned inwardly.
“You really want to know?”
“Yes”
“Really?”
“……yes”
“Are you sure?”
“YES!” A silence swept through the room. Bakura had a thoughtful expression on his face probably debating whether to tell Yami his secret. Yami tried to read the expression but with no luck. In a swift move Bakura leaned in on the un-expecting Pharaoh and briefly kissed him. When Bakura lent back, Yami noticed a particularly obvious blush crossing his counterparts cheeks, in noticing this Yami smiled and lent back in to reclaim the others lips with his own.
Ryou woke to the sound of the rustling in the bed next to him in the otherwise silent room. He squinted as the bright morning light coming through the window hit his tired eyes. He yawned loudly as he sat up. He scanned the room sensing that something was different, but he just couldn’t put his finger on it. Looking to his side he saw a lump under the covers.
“Ahhhhhh!!!” He yelled jumping off the bed and falling to the ground. The body next to him sat up in shock, and then fell off the bed on to his but.
“Ryou what going on?” Yugi asked pulling one of the sheets off the bed to rap around himself. Ryou frowned.
“I’m not sure? ……. But I know who would know!” He said, glaring at the wall.
“Who?” Yugi asked.
“Well our Yami’s of course. We gave them control of our bodies last night. Remember?” Ryou stated.
“Oh yeah that’s right” Yugi answered as both boys began to hastily pull on clothes. Ryou sat on the edge of the bed next to Yugi both now clothed.
“Yugi, you don’t think….. that maybe our Yami’s ….. um …. You know?” Ryou asked, blushing. Yugi looked at his friend in confusion.
“What do I know?”
“Yugi, don’t you get it? Bakura and Yami were…….” Ryou didn’t get to finish his sentence before he was interrupted.
“Fighting again! I thought so! Why don’t they just put their disagreements behind them” Yugi sighed in frustration.
Ryou smiled “Umm, No Yugi. But I do think that they did put their disagreements behind them”
“What do you mean Ryou?, I don’t understand” Yugi asked. Ryou sighed.
“Yugi don’t make me say it, please, how can you not get it?” He asked avoiding the question, as his blush deepened.
“I don’t know? I guess I’m just stupid” he said sadly bowing his head. Ryou frowned and put a hand on Yugi’s shoulder awkwardly.
“Your not stupid Yugi, your just a bit………”
“What? You can tell me”
“Well, you’re a bit naïve.” Ryou answered, Yugi smiled.
“Yes I know, Yami has mentioned it before. pause ….” Yugi swung his legs innocently on the bed. “So…. Can you tell me… pleeeeeease?” Yugi smiled widely, with pleading eyes. Ryou sighed loudly and looked away. “Ryou……… gasp” Yugi whined before he threw a shocked hand over his mouth, in his dismay. Ryou nodded seeing Yugi’s understanding.
“NO WAY!” Yugi managed. “…….wow…… This is big!”
No shit Sherlock “Yeah it is isn’t it” Ryou sighed irritably. He had to admit, he could understand his yami’s attraction to the other spirit. Yugi’s body sure wasn’t unattractive, quite the opposite in fact.
“So what happens now?” Yugi asked Ryou innocently opening the curtains to let a bit more light in.
“Well first we have to kill our Yami’s, for not bothering to get dressed, or get out of the same bed before returning to their soul rooms!” Yugi nodded in agreement.
“Well it could have been worse” Ryou raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t see how” Yugi thought briefly and pouted.
“I wasn’t thinking when I said it” He smiled. “It is good that their finally together though”
“Yeah, Bakura’s been having some ‘unusual’ dreams lately, if you know what I mean” Ryou said sending a wink at Yugi. Yugi laughed.
“Yeah Yami too” Both Ryou and Yugi were silent.
Bakura looked thoughtfully around the previously darkened space of his soul room, which was now beginning to take on new meaning in the form of vague pictures and memories once unknown to the mysterious tomb thief. As the images became clearer and the memories became more vivid, the thief wondered if in that time long ago he had also shared a relationship with the great pharaoh of Egypt, the reuniting of the flame was what triggered the flood of memories. But no time to waist on why it happened. Bakura had some serious soul searching to do.
There will be NO sequel to this because it was a one shot…… or maybe there will……. IF I can be bothered. I donno? Ya never know. WELL WELL We’ve come to the end….. SO pleeze Review!! I would really love SOME reviews for this fic, cause I really loved writing it…. PWEEEZE!!!
