Silent Witness

Is that what I am?

A witness without voice

Without meaning

Watching the man I admire

Give into his mou hitori no boku

The densetsu-teki hitokiri

Whose bloody legend sends chills down my spine

Battousai and the Miburo

Fighting no longer in Meiji Tokyo

No, their score will settle and end

In the ice-cold war blood of Bakumatsu Kyoto

Kaoru's tears stain the floor

Reaching out

Yet unable to hold him back

Unnoticed and unseen to all but me
