It was another beautiful fall day in Tokyo, October 1995.
Peace was finally restored as the battle with Galaxia had ended over three weeks ago.
The Senshi were getting back into the swing of things as far as school work.
Everyone was happy to finally get the peace they longed for.
Well, almost everyone.
"AHHHHHHHHHH! I'M LATE FOR SCHOOL AGAIN! WHY DOES SUCH A THING STILL HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME IN HIGH SCHOOL?!"
16 year old Tsukino Usagi screamed this as she ran towards Juuban High.
Carrying her pink bunny-rabbit Obento sack in one hand, and re-shouldering her school bag using the other, she felt herself getting tired fast.
Worried, she checked her watch.
There were only 5 minutes left.
Oh, Lord, she was NOT going to make it on time!
Panting heavily, Usagi ran faster as she entered the halls of her school.
Just as the Westminster school bells ended their chimes, Usagi quickly opened her class room door.
"Sensei, Tsukino Usagi is her---AHHHHH!"
With a thud, Usagi tripped over someone's school bag and landed flat on her face.
Rubbing her nose, the blonde started to sniffle from the pain.
She sweat-dropped.
"How terrible! It seems no matter what time I leave home, I'm nearly always late!"
Feeling sorry for herself, Usagi burst out crying.
"WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN?"
"Usagi-chan, are you okay?"
"Huh?"
Looking up, Usagi saw Ami standing over her, smiling kindly.
"Ami-chan, why isn't Sensei yelling at you for not sitting down?"
Ami winced as she replied, "Well, that's because our Sensei isn't here yet."
Usagi's cheeks turned deep red as she instantly stood up and yelled.
"YOU MEAN I'M ON TIME?!"
With that, the whole class started laughing at her.
Sweat dropping, Usagi blushed for a totally different reason.
Sheer and utter embarrassment.
"I'll just sit down now...", she muttered.
Ami put a friendly hand on her shoulder as the two walked towards Usagi's seat.
"It's all right Usagi-chan. You nearly made it on time today. That's improvement."
The laughter having long since died down, Usagi's class started excitedly chattering away.
The blonde nodded sleepily, burying her face in her hands.
Makoto blinked as she and Minako walked towards their friend's desk.
"Doushita no, Usagi-chan?"
"Well, I haven't been able to get much sleep lately since our last battle..."
Minako frowned uneasily.
"That battle must have really taken it out on you. After all, you used a lot of the Ginzuishou's power as your Star Seed to heal Galaxia, ne?"
The blonde nodded again, rubbing her tired eyes.
"Yeah. But I'm okay, Minako-chan. I just need to get some rest tonight."
Looking away, Usagi blinked.
"So, where exactly is our homeroom Sensei, anyway?"
Smiling, Makoto fielded that one.
"Ah, here's some news that should cheer you up!"
Usagi looked at her friend in confusion. "Huh?"
Crossing her arms, Mako winked. "Emi-sensei took a leave of absence starting today. So, we'll be getting a substitute teacher for the rest of the year."
Grinning, Usagi jumped up and grabbed Makoto by her school uniform collar.
"Nani-yo?! Hoshino-sensei is gone for the rest of the year?! That's so great!"
Suddenly scowling, the blonde girl darkly narrowed her sky-blue eyes.
"I hate her class SO much! She's so boring and I don't understand what she's talking about half the time!"
Minako flipped her blonde hair back as she added,
"Because of the new sub, all the English department homeroom teachers are greeting him or her to make sure they'll understand what to do..." Usagi nodded out of understanding.
"Oh, so that's why our homeroom sensei is gone..."
Ami blushed and sighed happily.
"I hope it's a really cute guy..."
Shocked, the other three girls blinked and sweat-dropped.
"AMI-CHAN?!"
Ami blushed even deeper, burying her face in her hands.
"Gomen nasai!"
Soon after, the girls' homeroom teacher returned.
He explained about how Hoshino-sensei was getting stress attacks at her old age and needed some time to recover.
Little did Usagi's teacher know it was because of her! "Although he may be young and a student teacher from college, I expect you all to give him the same respect you would give to any teacher at this school."
Curious, a student raised his hand to ask a question.
"Ano, sensei?"
The teacher pointed to him.
"Ryu-kun. What's your question?"
"Well...what college does our student teacher attend?"
Sensei smiled as he replied, "The very elite Azabu University."
All the students "ooooed" and "awed" in response.
Such a college was very hard to get into!
It certainly was an elite school, all right!
Usagi blinked out of surprise.
"Eh? Uso!"
(Azabu...? Wow, that's where Mamo-chan goes)
Blushing, the blonde smiled to herself as she thought of her love.
Clearing his throat, the Sensei adjusted his glasses. "I have been taking up your teacher's time for far too long already, so I shall now introduce you to him."
Looking towards the door, he said, "Please come in here now, Mamoru-kun!"
Usagi's eyes bugged out as she nearly fainted. (EH)
Standing next to her homeroom sensei was no one other then Mamoru!
Blushing from shock, Usagi instantly stood, pointed to him, and exclaimed:
"M...Mamo-chan?!"
Mamoru smiled at her and winked.
"Ohayou, Usa-ko! Surprised?"
