Hey everyone! Sorry to leave you hanging with the prologue like that, but I had to see whether you all were interested in the story or not. I apologize for the briefness of the prologue, but when you really take the time to sit and think about it -- what prologue is much longer than that? Most chapters will be considerably long, just to let you all know. I will try my best to update once or twice a week until the story is complete. On days when I will not be able to update, I will let you all know in advance! I will finish this story...be assured. It is not my wish to leave anyone hanging. ‘Nuff said, onto chappie one!! ;-)

NOTE: Tink’s voice is denoted with single quotation marks on either side of her dialogue. This is to let the reader infer only Peter and a select few can understand her. Thanks!

Forever Blue: Chapter One

It was mid afternoon before Peter rose from his bed. When he finally did so it was accompanied by a loud yawn and stretching of his limbs. He had grown quite accustomed to waking up alone, at least, ever since Wendy and the boys had left. He did not blame them for leaving, but he missed them all the same.

Silently he lifted himself out of bed and hovered over to Tinkerbell’s door. He was a little surprised to be waking her up to say the least. He had not done such a thing -- well -- since before he could remember.

“Tink?” his voice was full of lingering sleep and he yawned once more, “Tinkerbell? Come on Tink, get out of bed!” Finally he grew tired of calling for his tiny friend and pulled back her door. His eyes shot open immediately when he found her tiny house empty. A thousand and two thoughts ran through his mind, ‘Where is Tink? Could Hook have kidnapped her?! Tinkerbell, where are you?’

Without a second thought Peter clasped the handle of his dagger and with a mixture of worry and anger in his countenance he sped toward the hideout’s entrance. However, fate did not allow him to go very far. Just as he was reaching out to throw open the door he crashed into his small friend. The collision did little to Peter, though it sent Tinkerbell reeling through the air -- her body soaring and her mouth on fire.

Peter winced internally and floated over to the little fairy, “Tinkerbell, are you alright?”

She shot up into his face almost instantly, startling him and sending him backwards onto his backside. The sweet jingle of her voice was going full speed and Peter grimaced noticeably.

“Sorry Tink. I was worried is all...” the boy began, though soon he took in Tink’s small form fully. His grimace soon changed to deep concern, for her body was bruised and he could have sworn he saw a bit of blood under her green leaf dress. He spoke up, interrupting her ranting, “Tinkerbell...what happened? Even a run in with a sparrow wouldn’t leave you looking the way you do? Was it Hook??” He paused for the briefest of moments then began again, “If it was I’ll make him wish he were never...”

However, Tink cut him off before he could finish, her voice soft and full of despair, ‘Peter it isn’t that. It isn’t that at all...it’s just, well...’ She did not know how to continue, though Peter pressed the issue and she finally went on. ‘Last night, not too long after the sun went to sleep, a dark evil started to make its way into Neverland,’ at this Peter’s mouth crept into a smile.

“Ahh Tink,” he waved a hand in protest, “Tis just Hook and his scumba...”

‘NO PETER!!’ Tink glared at him and he soon fell silent. Tink was rarely strict with him, but he knew when to be quiet. ‘This is not Hook, I fear...it is much more sinister then Hook could ever hope to be. The fairy council called all fairies to an emergency meeting, but before we could create a barrier around the island the evil lashed out with its ugly claws. We were able to rid the island of most of it, but not all. A small piece of the evil was able to break through our attempted barriers and escape into the Never Realms.’ She paused sitting her small body down on a mushroom and for the longest time Peter feared she might have fallen to sleep. Soon enough, however, she looked up and with a long sigh she continued, ‘We haven’t been able to locate it since then...it’s almost as if the evil has put up a shield to ward off our power...’ she paused again turning sad and changing the subject all at once, ‘It was awful...so many perished in the wee hours of the night...so many gon...’ Peter watched as his tiny friend fell to sleep, a small teardrop leaving the corner of her eye.

He did not truly know what to think about the whole ordeal. He only knew one thing for sure...if this new evil was worse then Hook, the whole island would be in jeopardy. He had to find out more, however, before he knew for sure.

Having decided Peter gently took a leaf from his attire and laid it over his small companion. “Don’t worry Tink...I’ll do whatever I can to help,” he paused for the slightest of moments an idea coming to mind, “Surely the Indian Cheif will know something.” With that he flew off toward the Indian encampment leaving Tink to a very fitful sleep.

This is one of the shorter chapters in the story. Please review!! I will write more soon!! ;-)
