Ameline Morogue

Harry waited impatiently for all the first years to be sorted as he stared hungrily at his golden dinner plate. He hadn’t eaten anything but a few pumpkin pastries for the entire day and he couldn’t wait to sink his teeth on the roast beef the house elves would have surely prepared.

This year’s batch was abnormally large with over a fifty new students, which was strange, considering they were in the middle of a war. But finally, Dumbledore stood, and was about to announce the start of the new school year when the Great Hall’s doors burst open and a hooded figure entered.

The figure was clearly a female considering all the curves outlined by the thin cloth covering her body. But right now, a girl was nothing compared to the growling sensation in his tummy. He groaned in dismay (accompanied by half of the male population) when Dumbledore smiled brightly at the stranger and motioned for her to reveal her face.

A petite hand loosened the strings of her hood and pulled down said item of clothing, revealing a beautifully sculpted face. She had high cheekbones worthy of an aristocrat and slightly slanted cat-like eyes. Her nose was small and button-like and her lips were plump and red, perfect for kissing. Shoulder length red hair cascaded down feminine shoulders as it was freed from its bindings.

“Students, this is Ameline Morogue,” Dumbledore said grandly, “She is an exchange student from Salem’s Academyl for the Gifted, where Miss Granger is currently residing. I want you to treat her just like all your other classmates, with the proper respect she deserves. She will be in sixth year and I hope that her housemates would help her settle in.”

Throughout the entire speech, Harry’s stomach began to grumble for its lack of content. He had barely listened to anything Dumbledore said and was now silently urging the new girl to hurry with her sorting.

“And now let us find out what house Miss Morogue will be in.”

McGonagall stood up and announced in a loud clear voice, “Morogue, Ameline”

Ameline daintily made her way towards the small stool and as she put on the large hat, Harry couldn’t help but wonder if there was going to be any treacle tart for dessert.

After a few minutes of impatient waiting the brim of the hat tore opened and announced, “Gryffindor!”

Ameline glided through the tables as she took a seat right in front of Harry. Said boy ignored her and instead, stared longingly at the empty golden dishes in front of him.

“And now that the sorting is finished, let us begin the feast!”

Immediately, the empty plates were filled with delicious, mouth watering cuisines and Harry silently thanked Merlin that it was finally time to eat. He reached for the roast beef but instead found his hand filled with lily white fingers. He discarded the fingers, mumbling a slight apology before pulling the roast beef away from an indignant Seamus.

“I wasn’t done with that!” the Irish complained.

“Save the whining for later, when I’m full.” the be-speckled boy replied.

“But-!”

“You better listen to Harry there Seams,” Ron commented, “I’ve been hearing growls all night and he might just be hungry enough to bite your finger off.”

“He can’t be that hungry!” Dean said.

Ron glanced at Harry, who was inhaling pork chop after pork chop, not caring about the pretty new girl that was staring intently at him for some time now, and turned back to the dark skinned boy. “Yeah, he can.”

Now when the hat shouted Gryffindor, she knew it was fate.

After all, she was gorgeous, sexy and undoubtedly perfect, it should only be right that she got together with the savior of the wizarding world.

She had their entire lives planned out already. Harry was to fall in love with her at first sight and would then defend her from any unwanted suitors. Then he was to defeat Voldemort at the end of the year with her by his side, supporting him until the end. There would be a teary farewell at the end of the school year when she has to leave for America but she and Harry would write over the summer and fall more deeply in love with each other. And once Harry graduates from Hogwarts, they would marry and live happily ever after with dozens of tiny children to continue their legacy.

It was going to be perfect.

What she didn’t expect was, Harry to be completely like a man and ignore her in favor of the empty golden plates laid out before them. She had tried to catch his attention, purposely incepting his hand with hers when was reaching across the table for the nearest roast beef. She was expecting for him to glance at her hand and be in awe on how delicate her hand was and then look for the owner of said hands so that their eyes would meet and she can get him to fall in love with her come-hither gaze. But the little ingrate just brushed her off like she one of those ugly little girls that were mooning for him, murmuring a quick (and insincere) apology.

She then tried to make him look up from his eating with her piercing gaze but he didn’t even notice!

She was starting to think that this boy wasn’t even worth her time, considering he couldn’t even appreciate absolute beauty even if it was staring at him right in his face! But she would persevere. She knew it was just an act to see if she’ll give up. After all, he was the Harry Potter and surely he would have hordes of girls after him. He was just testing her, so she could prove that she was her one and only soulmate.

So she would continue to talk to him and then soon enough he would realize that they were meant to be together. All she had to do was wait.

Dinner ended with everybody stuffed, sleepy and ready to hit the hay. Harry was especially content, his tummy was full, he caught up with his friends and Remus was back as the DADA professor.

So yeah, life was great. (For now.)

He was walking alone tonight as Ron ate too much during the feast and was now probably somewhere bent in front of a toilet, barfing his guts out.

So it was just him tonight, on his way to visit their lovable werewolf.

He was only a corner away from Remus’ office when a hand gripped his arm and pulled him in an unused classroom. His invisibility cloak was thrown off and a mouth covered his own, a tongue forcing its way inside. Out of instincts, he wrapped his arms around his assaulter’s neck and began to kiss back.

The bigger man (at least he hoped it was a man), pulled away and Harry whimpered at the lost of warmth.

“Well Potter, this just proves you’ll kiss anyone that grabs you during night.”

“Malfoy?!” Harry gasped.

“Good evening Potter.” greeted Malfoy.

“The hell Malfoy?! What was that?!” Harry demanded.

“It was a kiss Potter, something you thoroughly enjoyed.”

Harry could feel his face glow, “I-I did not!”

Malfoy raised a fine eyebrow, “You sure about that, Potter?” he questioned the black haired boy, pressing his body against the other’s.

“Uh…”

Malfoy’s cold eyes softened and he brought his hand up to caress Harry’s cheek. “I missed you…”

Harry’s hand reached out and tucked a loose strand of silver blond hair behind Draco’s ear. “Same here.”

“Let’s make up for lost time, shall we?”

“Let's.”

Ameline was in the Gryffindor common room when she saw Harry sneak out with his invisibility cloak. She doubted that he saw her when he put the cloak over his form and exited the common room.

She had decided to follow him out of curiosity and desire. Curious to where he was heading and desire to know more about her beloved.

So she quietly slipped out the portrait and followed the echoing footsteps, her own not making any sounds. She followed him through the different unfamiliar corridors, learning the twists and turns of Hogwarts along the away. Following him allowed her to see him get snatched, the cloak revealing the hem of his jeans as a pale hand grabbed his arm.

She growled and quickly followed her love. Gliding soundlessly into the room, she was about to curse the hell of whoever snatched her beloved away when she stopped and actually looked at what was in front of her.

“No, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOO!”

Draco and Harry broke away from their kiss and turned to stare at the exchange student.

Completely ignoring her abashed look, Draco frowned and tried to pull his lover in for another kiss but Harry pushed him away and gestured swiftly towards the distraught girl.

“Erm, hello…” Harry murmured unsurely. “May I ask what you’re doing here Ms. Morogue?”

But the girl ignored him and continued to hyperventilate. “Impossible, impossible! Harrykins isn’t gay. And with the filthy and evil Malfoy no less! No, there’s just no way!”

Draco, furious for being ignored by his lover, (for a female no less) and completely forgetting that they were in an empty classroom passed curfew, spoke in a loud voice, “Oh it is possible. Very much so considering that we’ve been snogging each other for almost over a year now.”

“LIES!!!” Ameline cried. “LIES ALL OF THEM!!!”

Harry frowned and answered, “He’s not lying, we’ve been dating since the middle of our fifth year.”

“NO!!!”

“Look Ameline, we’re telling the truth-”

“NO!!!” the red-head shrieked, “NO!!! THIS IS ALL A BAD DREAM! YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT, ALL OF THIS, A NIGHTMARE. HARRY WILL STILL FALL IN LOVE WITH ME, WE’LL STILL GET MARRIED AT THE END OF SEVENTH YEAR AND WE’LL STILL HAVE A DOZEN OF CUTE LITTLE CHILDREN!!!”

“Look girl, if you think MY Harry would go-”

“WE WILL!! WE WILL!!!!” she screamed. Her breathing was getting shorter and she began clutching on her throat. Her shrieks turned into rasps and in a few minutes her body collapsed.

“Oh, dear.” Harry muttered, crouching near her, “Is she alright?”

“Who cares?” Draco shrugged. “Let’s just leave her there. I’m sure someone will find her by morning.”

“But Dray…”

“C’mon,” Draco said, pulling Harry along, “I thought we were going to make up for lost time? I’m a Slytherin prefect; we’ve got our own private rooms.”

“Eh? That’s not fair.”

Ignoring him, Draco dragged Harry along with promises of a wonderful night to come. And surprise to say, Harry forgot all about the girl in the abandoned room.

The next morning, Dumbledore stood in front of the Great Hall, announcing the regretful death of one Ameline Morogue. The cause: heart failure due to extreme stress accompanied by a quick dose of sudden shock.

Harry felt guilty for a short while, that is, until Draco one again forcefully carried his lover to his private rooms.

Unsurprisingly, Snape and his Slytherins didn’t get a wink of sleep for the next following weeks.
