"DOCTOR McCOY!"

McCoy opened one bleary eye and bashed the intercom button.

"'Coy here."

"Get down here RIGHT NOW!" an angry voice barked. He figured that she had to shout to be heard over the crying children.

"Chris?" he mumbled.

"RIGHT NOW!" Chapel repeated, "or I will bring all of them to your cabin!"

McCoy dragged himself up to a slumped position.

"I took watch last night!" he whined.

"Either you come down here and slip them all a sedative or brandy—at this point I don't care which!—or we're coming up there."

"Aw, Chris!" McCoy yawned, "where's your sense of compassion? These kids just lost their families!"

"I know," she said, "but my compassion's all used up." McCoy grimaced at the increased volume of both the children and his head nurse. "And you did NOT take the watch last night! I had to relieve you at 0130, after I had pulled an all-nighter with them the day before!"

McCoy slumped back onto his cot.

"Doctor? LEONARD H. McCOY, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!"

McCoy covered his head with a pillow.

"Okay, kids!" rang Chapel's voice. "Grab your pillows and blankies. We're having a sleep-over at Uncle Lenny's!"

"Zzzzzz"
