A/N: Just a one parter. I had this idea in the back of my head. But secretly...I'm biding time until I come up with my next story idea.

Day at the Club

"Mind if we barge in?"

Rory and Richard Gilmore look up as three men about her grandfather's age approach the table. She smiles.

"Look who's here. Ah, Rory, this is Julian Johnson, Edward James, and Janlan DuGrey..."

"It's nice to meet you."

Her smile becomes tighter at the mention of the DuGrey name. No need to judge this man on his grandson's idiocy.

"Would you like to join us?"

"If Rory doesn't mind us intruding on her time with her grandfather." Julian states.

"No, that's fine."

“So, we hear you're attending Chilton?" Edward asks.

"I just started.

"That's a hard school."

"Yes sir.”

"Rory is an excellent student."

She blushes at her grandfather's comment.

"Really?"

"4.0 GPA." He adds.

"Whoa! That's got me beat."

They laugh, as Rory smiles politely.

"You know Rory..." Janlan begins. "I have a grandson about your age that attends Chilton."

"Really?" Richard asks, before Rory could reply.

"Yes. And in fact he's here today, if Rory would like him to show her around."

"Oh, I--."

"I'm sure she'd enjoy that, wouldn't you Rory? Getting away from us old men for a while."

"Well..."

"Oh there he is now---Tristan, come here please."

"Hey, Grandpa."

"Tristan, I'd like you to meet Richard Gilmore, and his granddaughter, Rory. She's just started Chilton."

Tristan shake's Richards hand. "Nice to meet you sir."

"Same to you."

Tristan turns his attention to Rory, smiling politely.

"Hello Rory."

"Tristan." She states through gritted teeth.

"You know each other?" Richard asks.

He nods. "Rory's in my English class."

"Oh wonderful."

Inwardly Rory cringes. She feels like she's being backed into a corner here, she can sense it coming.

"Tristan?" Janlan asks. "You wouldn't mind showing Rory around, would you?"

"And teaching her some more golf. I'm afraid my attempts failed." Richard adds.

"Of course not."

Tristan couldn't help but smile at his luck. Rory Gilmore, the only girl that kept his interest for more than a week was standing before him, and he was being asked to escort her for the day. Perfect.

As Rory rises from the table, Tristan offers her his arm. Having no other choice, she takes it. He smirks.

"We'll see you two later." Richard calls.

Once out of sight from their grandparents Rory pushes Tristan off of her.

"Get away from me."

"Why Mary, I thought you'd finally given into your feelings for me. It's not good to deny them."

She crosses her arms over her chest. "My name's Rory. You knew it inside, or can you only remember it when you're in front of your family."

"I know your name Rory."

"Oh..." She stutters, surprised. "Good."

"Mary just seems to suit you so much better."

"You know what?" She says, throwing her hands up in the air. "How about if I go off and do something, and you go away and we can meet up before we have to go back and meet our grandfathers. Because it's obvious neither one of us wants to be here."

She hopes he'll just agree and leave her alone. Rory does not want to spend the rest of her day with Tristan. Ever since her first day at Chilton, he'd been arrogant, conceded, and nothing but a problem for her.

"Now you see that's where you're wrong Mar..." He leans closer, and she backs up. "I definitely want to be here."

She sighs, uncrossing, and crossing her arms over her chest. Her discomfort is obvious. He holds out his hand to her, and she stares at it.

"Come on. Let's go for a walk."

"I'm not going anywhere with you."

"Stop fighting it."

He grabs her hand, but she quickly pulls away.

Inwardly Tristan groans. He doesn't know why he acts like such a jerk in front of her. It's like a reflex or something. He finally talks to a girl with a few brain cells and suddenly the defenses go up. He's nothing but charm. And when that doesn't work he's an all around jackass.

"This is all just some sick game to you isn't it? Am I a challenge or something? Well, sorry game over. I'm not going to cave."

She was right, in a way; at first Rory Gilmore was a game. She didn't give in on the first day; it was fun to have to fight. But as time went on and he learned more and more about this girl he realized just how much he liked her.

He moves closer, his lips centimeters away from hers. She breathes in. She's nervous. He thinks. Maybe she feels that spark between us too.

"So you admit, you're denying your feelings for me."

She groans, throwing her hands up in the air, and moving away from him. He smiles at how easy she is to get annoyed.

"You twist around everything I say!"

He nods. "It's part of my charm. You know, just incase wit, charisma, and stunning good looks weren't enough."

"Your ego must need its own solar system." She observes.

"That's not the only thing of mine that's big."

"Idiot." She mutters, walking away, as she wills herself not to blush.

"Where are you going?" He asks, falling into step with the brunette.

"Away from you."

He shakes his head. "Sorry, not going to happen."

"And why not?"

"Because I was told to teach you how to play golf. And that's exactly what I'm going to do."

"I don't need your help."

"According to your grandfather you do."

"Well maybe he was wrong."

"Apparently, the only thing you know about golf is that it's a good walk spoiled. It doesn't have to be spoiled Mary."

"I'm ignoring you now."

He smirks. "Alright. I'll make you a deal."

"What kind of deal?" She asks skeptically.

"We go over to the golf course. I'll give you one shot. You hit the ball I'll leave you alone for the day. You hit the grass or anything but your ball, you have to spend the day with me."

"No."

"Why not?" I thought you said you could play."

"I can!" She demands.

"Okay, than show me."

"It's not worth the risk of spending the say with you."

"If you don't try, I won't leave you alone."

She glares at him.

"Well I don't have much of a choice now do I?"

He shrugs. "I guess not."

"Now lean back more, relax your shoulders. Here let me show you..." Tristan moves closer, attempting to drape his arms around Rory's, showing her the correct position.

"Come any closer and I'll find another use for this golf club DuGrey."

"Fine, but the longer it takes for you to learn, the longer we'll be here."

She sighs heavily. "I can't believe I'm doing this."

"Hey..." He raises his hands in surrender. "I'm not the one who can't tell the difference between a ball and a patch of grass!"

"My hand slipped! Okay?"

"Whatever you say Mary."

"My name is Rory. Do you need to spell it out for you?"

"Why bother talking, when those lips can be put to use on much more pleasurable activities."

"Will you stop?" She exclaims.

"Someone's in a bad mood."

"Well. This is not how I planned on spending my Saturday."

"Hmm. Let me guess. You rather be reading."

She shrugs. "It's better than this."

"Why do you like to read so much?"

"I don't know. I just do."

"Fair enough.—Now..." He claps his hands together. "Are you going to let me help you or not?"

Reluctantly, she agrees. "Fine! But make one wrong move and I'll hit you with the golf club."

He chuckles softly, as he lines himself up with Rory. Their hands meet on the club and it sends an unexpected tingling sensation through her body. She wonders why this only happens when she's with Tristan.

"You okay?" He asks.

"Huh? Oh yeah. I'm fine."

"Okay. Now what you want to do is line your left foot up with the ball." He grips her shoulders. "Drop these back." Here come those tingles again. "Now, draw back slowly, and hit."

The ball flies smoothly through the air before landing on a nearby patch of grass.

"I did it! Oh my God. Tristan I did it!" Finally she removes herself from his arms, turning to face him.

"I did it!"

"I know!"

Without thinking, Rory throws herself in his arms.

"Thank you! Thank you!"

"Uh...no problem."

Noticing what she's done, Rory pulls back quickly. She flushes hotly. "Oh, uh, sorry. I just. You know, I got a little carried away there.” As she mumbles she walks backwards knocking into a tree. She stumbles. Quickly Tristan catches her. She's in his arms once again.

"Thanks."

"It seems like I'm helping you quite a bit today aren't I."

His face draws closer to hers.

"It seems that way."

Closer.

"Yeah."

Closer.

"Mhmm..."

Their lips meet in a soft kiss. But she quickly pulls away, removing herself from his clutch. I got kissed! She thinks. I got kissed by Tristan DuGrey, and I liked it!

She stutters, not sure what to say. "Oh...I...um...wow..."

"What? Did I bite your lip or something?"

"No. I just um...thank you."

"I kiss you. You thank me. You're very weird, do you know that?"

She doesn't answer. She's blushing furiously.

"Mary?"

No answer. Why is she ignoring me?

"Mar?"

Still no answer. She's smiling, her cheeks pink. But she can't meet his eye. Realization hits him. He knew Rory Gilmore was innocent, but he never knew she was that innocent.

"Was that...? That wasn't your first...?" He runs a hand through his hair. "Was it?"

She nods her head, turning crimson.

"Oh. Wow."

He moves closer. She moves back.

"Well I guess golf wasn't the only thing you learned today."

She looks at her feet.

"Tristan."

Still they're moving further.

"Rory."

"Wow you used my real—oh!"

Rory yelps as her back thuds against a tree.

He smiles at her. "Well you know practice makes perfect. Want to try it again?"

She's not sure why, but she doesn't feel like freaking out about the fact that she just got kissed for the first time, and by Tristan DuGrey. There's a look in his eyes that makes her melt, his touch sends her nervous system into over drive, and his kiss made her forget everything

She nods her head.

Tristan smirks, placing one hand on Rory's waist, and the other behind her head, weaving it into her hair, before leaning in to show Rory Gilmore exactly why golf could be so fun.
