He's staring at her again. She knew he couldn't help it. She knew he tried to stop.

She can tell he is. She can always tell he is.

She was always staring at him. But she was much more discrete.

She knew that he was too interested in her. She was too interested in him.

She knew how he saw her. An angel in a cloud of light. She saw him similarly.

He stares at her often. She stares back.

"And how would stare at me when you thought I wasn't looking.

She was right. She knew she was so right.

She didn't care. She was talking to his best friend. She he wasn't jealous, nor was he threatened by the friendly conversation. They were just friends.

But then, so were she and he.

"How about a steamy love scene between the Starfleet CONN officer and the Maquis engineer."

That was all she ever wanted. Him.

"That's realistic."

She hoped it was. She meant to so sound sarcastic, just to lead him on.

He could never know how she felt. She couldn't hurt him. She loved him, and she knew it.

"Be careful what you wish for Lieutenant."

She was just toying with him.

She was trying to throw him off guard. She always did things like that.

She wanted to show that Klingon side again.

He wanted to see it.

She just wanted him

She could never forget was she had said, even if she did say it wasn't her. It was. Just flared up in a desperate need for him. It was all true. But she could never tell him that.

"I've wanted this for so long."

She did. She really did. She wanted. She will want.

She waits. She will still wait.
