Twins- Chapter One

Shalimar and Cat were in the lab with Adam doing Shalimar’s ultrasound. Meanwhile, Brennan and Jesse were playing some 1 on 1 and Emma and Lexa went out shopping. “There’s the baby’s heartbeat,” Adam was telling both the girls who were much excited.

“Do you think it’s a girl or boy?” Cat asked Shalimar who was busy staring at the screen that held the picture of her child. “Hmmm... What did you say?” Cat sighed and repeated her question. “I said, do you think it’s a girl or boy?” Shalimar stared at her confused. “Even I don’t know. The baby seems to have its back turned.” Cat also stared at her confused. “Had its back turned?” “I know that sounds stupid, but go ask Adam.”

Cat went to ask Adam about the baby’s gender. “Hey Adam, is the baby a boy or a girl?”

Adam turned around and whispered into Cat’s ear. “A baby boy!” Cat looked at Adam and hugged him. “Okay Cat. You’re choking me!” Cat released Adam from her hug and blushed. “Sorry Adam. I got over excited. But, what do you mean boy? You said it was a girl.” Adam laughed. “Only to the untrained ear. See, if it’s a girl, the heartbeat will sound like faster.” “Ohh... you mean ‘cause it’s kicking a lot?” Cat asked confusingly. Adam laughed again “Yes. Now I want you to keep this a secret, okay?” Cat nodded her head vigorously. “Can I tell Emma, Lexa and Jesse?” Adam chuckled and replied. “Just make sure they don’t tell,”

Cat went to her room and tried to connect with Emma. Emma, Emma can you hear me?. Emma, who was on the way home connected back. Yeah, why?. Cat grinned at herself and told her everything. Later when Emma and Lexa came back, Emma rushed to Cat’s room. “A boy?! Oh my God!” Cat put a finger on her lips while saying, “Pipe down! Adam said not to tell Shalimar or Brennan yet!” Emma jumped with joy. Cat tried her best to calm her down. “Shhh...! Will you please quit jumping and screaming?!” Cat practically screamed to the whole of Sanctuary. Emma giggled and apologized.

After the ultrasound, Shalimar went to the kitchen to get some grub. As she walked to the fridge, she heard laughing. She just sighed and took out a big chunk of steak. She looked at it and smiled. She was about to eat it when...

“Can you eat raw steak when you’re pregnant?” It was Brennan. Shalimar sighed and shoved it back in the fridge. “You’re always spoiling my fun!” fussed Shalimar. Brennan just chuckled and walked to the fridge. He opened the fridge and took out a bowl of carrot sticks. Shalimar scowled and took the bowl from him. He laughed went to the rec. room.

As Cat walked out of her room, Lexa grabbed her and pushed her into her room. “Okay, spit it out.” “Okay,” Cat spit on Lexa’s hand. “Ewww! Not that kind of spit. Tell me what you told Emma!” Cat just sighed and said “You gotta pay me first,” Lexa glared at her. “Catherine!” Cat shot her feral eyes. “Watch it! You know I hate people calling me Catherine!” “If you don’t want me to call you that, spill,” Cat warned her “You tell mom or dad I’ll kill you!” Lexa sighed and said “Yeah, yeah. Now spill,” Cat started to spill.

After telling Lexa, Lexa squealed but was quickly stopped by Cat. “Shut up! I told you not to make noise!” Lexa looked at her confused. “How can you not be happy about this?” Cat sighed and replied. “I am happy, but I learned to keep my mouth shut,” She said haughtily. Lexa just scowled.

The Rec. Room

Brennan was sitting on the couch when Shalimar came in with the bowl of carrot sticks. Brennan looked up and smiled. When he was about to say something, Shalimar shoved a bunch if carrot sticks into his mouth. Brennan started spitting out the carrot sticks. “Yuck! Shal! You know I hate carrots!” Shalimar scowled at him. “What makes you think I don’t?” Brennan gulped and ran out the rec. room. Before he knew it, Shalimar grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to the meditating pond. Brennan started begging Shalimar and promised not to make her eat carrot sticks anymore. But Shalimar didn’t listen. She just threw him in the pond.

Brennan resurfaced after a few minutes spluttering and coughing. “Shal, what was that for?” Shalimar just ignored him and walked out.

“Remember what the deal is, I tell you, you don’t tell,” Cat repeated her deal with Lexa. Lexa just sighed. “Yeah, yeah! You told me that 10 times!” Cat just looked at her and walked of. Lexa followed her until she reached the Dojo. “Lexa, please stop following me!” Lexa stared at her confused. “How did you...?” Cat just giggled. “Hello, earth to Lexa. I’m feral, remember?” Lexa shrugged.
