The office was still in the night. The two of them were the only ones around. They had been alone for twenty minutes, letting the passion take over. The door was locked, and the blinds were closed. There was no way for anyone to find them. This was there chance, there last chance. And the idea of lost souls and evil vampires had not crossed either of there minds. They were once again together and for once nothing was going to interrupt that.
She stared into his dark eyes as she fell on to the desk. She could feel the wood against her back. It reminded her of something out of a crappy romance novel. Two people kept apart for some reason or another; end up having sex on a desk. I mean the irony. After working in close proximities for four years (granted she was possessed one of those years). This was how it was going to happen.
She had time to think about her death. And she didn't want Angel's last memory of her to be of her leaving after they make love. And that's what it was. It wasn't some one night stand; it was love, the kind that gives you butterflies. She wanted him to know that. But, it wasn't possible. This was the end. Only twenty-three years of life and she knew this was the end. And there was no other way she wanted to spend her last hours. Wrapped, in the arms of the man she had grown to love.
"Angel," she said softly.
"What," he asked her slowly pulling away.
"I-I, never mind," she said, not being able to bring her self to speak her mind. She felt his body as it found its way back on to hers. She again was left to stare into his eyes and wonder how things might have gone.

"Angel," he heard out of the corner of his ear.
"Yes," he replied looking up from the desk in front of him.
"Are you okay?"
He looked into the petite Texans' eyes. "Great, why do you ask?"
"You know you're not the only one who misses her right," she asked taking a seat on the desk.
"I know, but," he began, but was cut off.
"You refuse to admit it was a dream like state and the love of your life is still in a coma. And is probably going to die in comatose," she said simply.
"Oh gee, when you put it that way."
"You don't get it. She knew she was going to die. She just wanted you to know what you meant to her. If you ask me it was rather noble," she told him before walking towards the door. She turned at the sight of it. "I almost forgot why I came in here. I stumbled upon this in my mail box," she continued handing him a letter that had been sitting in her back pocket.
"Thanks," he said quietly as she walked out of his office.
He placed the letter on the desk and stared at it vigorously.

Cordelia sat in Angel's office careful not to wake the man who currently resided on the couch.
Dear Angel,
Sometimes people have to do things they don't want to do. These things are in the control of the powers. Who ever they might be have decided my time has up. They have decided that my time on this earth now most end. And after all these years I have realized not to play around with fate. I guess that everyone really dies alone and there is know controlling that. I guess that life is just a game that you play until someone calls it quits. For the past four years you been my game and well know I guess it's time to call it quits. Let's not fool ourselves we both knew this was coming. We both knew that I wouldn't last much longer.
Just remember that redemption comes with a price. That evil will always be around and you must be there to stop it. Oh and also begin eunuch has its plus sides!!
Love always,
Cordelia
She wrote the words her hand shaking the entire time. She knew that these were her last words to this man and that this was her only hope of telling him goodbye. She placed the letter in a pile of mail that was to be sent out, walked over to the sleeping man and kissed his forehead.
"You're welcome," she said almost silently before walking out of the room for the last time. As she left the room Angel awoke to the sound of the ringing telephone.
