Sorry for any spelling errors or mistakes from here on in. I recently got my nails done so now they are super long and hard to type with. Hope you enjoy the chapter! This is for the very few Emmett/Justin fans out there.
“You shouldn’t worry about it,” he said, sitting down beside him. “Brian will always be Brian, no ifs ands or buts.”
Justin sighed. “You know, after all these years, you would think he’d be someone other than...Brian.”
Emmett chuckled. “Never. Brian may be a cold heartless shit but at least you got the rest of us.”
“If Brian hates me, Michael hates me, then Ben hates me, and so on. It’s a chain reaction.”
Emmett moves closer. “Oh sweetie I could never hate you. As far as I’m concerned...” He moves his head closer to his ear to whisper, “they can rot in hell.”
Justin smiled, not thinking of the strange closeness between them. Emmett had no problem displaying his affection for those he cared about, but after the incident with Ted and getting his heart smashed, he was afraid to start a new relationship or even come close to it. When he felt something in side him burn about Justin, he became scared and backed off. Another thing helped that conclusion come to be. Justin was not just another fag, he was beautiful and beautiful people always turned Emmett down, especially if he wanted a relationship.
Emmett was tired of being a tramp and bringing home random queens. He wanted to settle down, and right now, the spark in his heart went to Justin with a passion. The only problem was, Justin would never return it. he was a full fledged Brian-aholic.
When Justin noticed Emmett spacing out, he watched him for a few seconds, then woke him up with the say of his name.
“Where were you?” Justin asked with a smile.
You will never understand, Emmett thought.
“I’m just tired, that’s all,” he said with a sigh.
“If you’re tired, you should sleep.”
“Nah, it’s too early. There’s things I have to do,” he said, not taking his eyes off Justin. He cussed himself out mentally for not noticing how beautiful Justin was before. Maybe he could have even met him before Brian did Maybe they would even be in a relationship or married. So many maybe’s and not enough action. That was not at all normal for Mr. Emmett Honeycutt.
“Now you’re staring at me,” Justin pointed out, snapping his fingers in front of Emmett’s face. “You need some sleep.”
“I’m thinking.”
Justin looked playfully concerned. “Uh oh...that means trouble. I’m scared now.”
“It does not!” Emmett defended, playfully shoving him. “So cruel.”
Justin smiled cutely. Emmett stopped chuckling and looked at him. he was so beautiful. He recently had his hair cut but was relieved when it grew back. Justin didn’t look right in short hair, despite what he said formerly.
“I wonder if Brian will be at Babylon tonight,” Justin wondered aloud.
“He can be there all he wants, because you won’t be.”
Justin shrugged. “I won’t want to go anyway. I don’t feel like it. I’d rather go to Woody’s and get drunk.”
”I will NOT let you get drunk in this state, sweetie. I refuse.”
Justin chuckled. “What state? I’m fine. Just a little heartbroken but it’s not like he broke up with me. He just needs some time to himself.”
“He’s always got time to himself. You need someone that will treat you like a prince.”
Justin groaned slightly. “The last one who treated me like a prince ended up cheating on me.”
Emmett’s heart sank. “I know honey. I’m sorry I mention anything.”
“Isn’t there any guy out there who’s willing to have an honest relationship or is every guy out to fuck?”
Emmett sat back in thought. “I wouldn’t,” he said, without thinking.
Justin looked to him. Emmett had to cover up what he said quickly to avoid his feeling embarrassed.
“One person in this world has to be honest anyway. I thought Ted might have felt the same way but his addiction told me otherwise. I never felt more betrayed.”
When Emmett had covered his face, signaling he was on the edge of tears, Justin rubbed his back. It was obvious that Emmett still had feelings for him, regardless of what h4 had said previously.
When Emmett gave out a first single sob, Justin put his arms around him tightly. Emmett responded, resting his head against Justin’s shoulder, face down.
“I’m sorry,” Justin said, rubbing his back.
“I can’t believe it. I treated him so well. I gave him everything he could ever want. He knew I loved him. depression or not, he didn’t need to hurt himself like that!”
”I know, I know. you did all you could.”
“Really?” Emmett asked, following a sniffle.
“Let me tell you, I had a better chance of doing drugs than he did with the way Brian treats me. That proves that it can happen to anyone regardless, so it’s not your fault.”
They broke apart and Justin brushed away Emmett’s tears with his fingertip.
“So don’t cry.”
Emmett started up again, but not because of Ted, but because of how wonderful Justin was and how he couldn’t ever be with him.
“Justin...I...”
As Justin was waiting for him to finish his sentence, Emmett acted quickly before his mind could tell him otherwise, he placed his hand at the back of Justin’s head and pulled him into a deep kiss. Justin had responded back, much to Emmett’s delight. Emmett had been with a lot of guys before, but there was just something about Justin that made this special. He was perfect. Nothing could ruin the moment.
Just when Emmett had thought that it couldn’t get any better, Justin pulled back.
“What the fuck!” he said, standing up quickly, wiping his mouth. “Why did you do that?”
His actions made Emmett feel so much worse, even worse than what Ted did to him. he lowered his head, trying to fight the tears of rejection, but they came anyway.
“I’m sorry,” he said, then stood up quickly, walking to another point of the house, unable to be in the same room as Justin. He didn’t have to be that cruel about it!
When Emmett was gone, Justin didn’t have to think twice about it. He new he was being incredibly rude with the way he just treated him. Here he was trying to help him out with his problems, then pushes him away.
Justin sighed and sat back down on the couch, spacing out in thought, thinking about what he just did.
