Spoilers: I hope you know who Brad Follmer is. He's not referred to by name, however. And this doesn't really fall anywhere in the series, either.

Summery: Monica tries to rationalize her past with Follmer, and how it might affect her future with Doggett in 100 words.

Author's Notes: The idea of this drabble is that Follmer abused Monica during their relationship. That's never been proven, nor really hinted at, but there are some stories that have given that hint. (One of them's by Gothic Spook!) I've thought that would have been an interesting angle to go at, had the show gone on. The title comes from a phrase used on Buffy the Vampire Slayer: "Sometimes my life sucks beyond the telling of it." (The line is said by Her Buffness in the episode "The Prom" in s3 for all you Buffy fans who are now rushing to their DVDs and going "Who said that? What episode?")

(Scary how I know all that, hunh? I think I need more to do.)

I don't know why he did it. And frankly, I still don't know. I don't think he hated me. I guess it was just a power play. Oh, God, listen to me. I'm making excuses again. Just like I did when I was with him. At least it's not "I fell down the stairs" anymore. I wonder if Dana sees it. She's never been in this kind of relationship; how would she know?

You're not like him, John. Our relationship's exciting and just what I need. I hope and pray you never find out how deep these scars go.
