"Hearts of Shadow"

Chapter 1: Crimson Eyes.

Running...

Forever Running...

Never Stopping...

But why? Why can't I stop?

His questions went unanswered though, as he continued to run through the darkness in a state of fear, unknown to where he was or why he was here.

His footsteps echoed around him with each step he placed upon the hard ground. All that could be seen was the cold silver mist upon the ground and the rest was just darkness, nothing else.

He panted heavily, but he didn't stop running, he felt someones eyes burn into his back and he didn't want this person to catch him, though he was curious as to why he was in this place, who wouldn't be.

Beads of weat dripped from his forehead but were ignored by the young warrior as he continued running until something got his attention, a second set of footsteps.

He finally came to a halt and began his search for this person, his obsidian eyes darting from left to right since the footsteps seemed to be coming from all around him.

A flash of light appeared before him and a huge flame engulfed it, burning brightly.

Eventually the flames vanished leaving a cloaked figure standing in its place.

Two red eyes glowed from from underneath the dark hood.

His eyes widened in surprise for but a few seconds before turning to a cold glare, a small growl arupting from his clenched teeth as he took a fighting stance.

A small laugh came from the figure as the persons eye's stopped glowing, but stayed a crimson colour.

"The time is neigh, soon the powers of Thanatos shall become one and the universe shall fall at our feet and It'll be all thanks to you."

The figure spoke in a low, wispy voice making it impossible to tell if it was a man or a woman who was speaking to him.

"What are you talking about?" He shouted.

But the figure just chuckled lightly under it's breath, "You know so little, but don't worry all will be made clear soon."

The red glow returned to the mystery persons crimson eyes and he found himself falling through the ground the darkness swallowing him whole.

A single cry for help rang through the shadowy abyss but fell upon deaf ears, as he continued falling....

He shouted for help before his eyes flung open and he shot out of his bed drenched in cold sweat and panting heavily.

His eyes darted around the room in a desperate search for the figure but found only his brother snoring lightly in the bed next to his.

He got out of bed and moved quietly towards the window.

He glanced outside continuing his search, normally he would have just passed it off as a nightmare but he something wasn't right about that dream.

He sighed to himself seeing nothing but the dark forest ahead of him.

Wiping the beads of sweat from his brow, he returned to his bed, deciding to himself that he was just being paranoid.

Closing his eyes he gradually falling into a peaceful slumber.

As soon as the saiyan hybrid fell asleep the cloaked figure from his dream emerged from the forest.

The figure raised it's lowered head revealling the face of a young woman with crimson eyes and a few locks of stray hair that fell down her face as a firey red.

She smirked and whispered to the wind as she returned to the darkness of the forest, "Soon Gohan, soon..."
