Hi y’all and welcome to my first Pretear fic! W00t!

Usually, when I begin writing for a new category, I do a parody of Weird Al’s “The Night Santa Went Crazy.” But that’s getting really old by now and I’m too lazy to post a one-shot. XD; That and Sasame already decided to go crazy in episode 10.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Pretear. All I own is the first 2 volumes of the manga and a 8-hour tape thingy that contains episode 8, 9, and 10 of said anime and a load of Final Fantasy Unlimited episodes. I’m not making any money out of this. Heck, all I have is 50 cents! Oh yeah, and characters you don't recgonize belong to me.

Notes:

Shippings: Hayate/Himeno (major but you won’t see it as much. I think I made a oxymoron...), Takako/Sasame (same as H/H), Miyako/Shin

Ph34r the power of dramatic irony (meaning that the audience knows something that the characters don’t). There is a plot point that is so obvious, the characters don’t see it until later on. /grins sheepishly/

This is set after the final episode (even though I just saw episode 10 a little bit ago big arrow points to ) ‘cause its more fun that way.

Now onto the fic!

Another note: Ignore the title, which is all I could think of and it kinda suits the plot...

Dark Pink

Himeno wandered around Leafania fuming. She and Hayate had an argument. It was a stupid one; Hayate came home late and accidentally woke up his pregnant wife in the process, who wanted to know why he did come in late and where he went.

He was the only one who can stay near her when she was having those mood swings. Everyone else immediately leaves the room when that happens.

The other knights wondered if their arguments were code for lovey-dovey sweet talk, especially with Hayate's pet name for his wife 'Tulip Head.'

Himeno looked up and stopped. She was walking in the path to what was left of Fenrir’s prison, that big dark tree.

She remembered that the Pretear could choose to be good or evil and all those memories of the final battle.

She never noticed the dark fog enclosing her until it was too late. She started to scream but was silenced as she disappeared and the new Princess of Disaster stood in her place.

Fenrir looked at the tree and then to her abdomen where she could sense an unborn child growing. She grinned psychotically and raised a hand as though she was going to rip herself open and kill the innocent as her first act of evil.

But a voice inside her said, "No! I won't do this!"

Inside Fenrir's mind, the darkness and Himeno fought for control.

Himeno won.

"I can't go back. I must stay in Leafeania, even if I don't see my family again. I'm sorry Hayate..."

17 years later...

Kouichi was running. He could hear the cackles of Fenrir getting louder as she was getting closer.

Ever since he was four, when his mother dropped him off at the home of the Leafe Knights and said she'll be back, Fenrir had been after him for some reason. He can still see her pale face smiling sadly as she waved goodbye. Her pink hair, graying with stress and some illness that seemed to never go away, the same color as her son's, whirrled one last time as she turned around and walked down the path until she was out of sight.

She never came back. And the Leafe Knights never showed up to watch him.

By nightfall, Fenrir appeared with a scary grin on her face. Kouichi took one look and ran, all over Leafeania. She would appear out of nowhere at night and would never bother him during the day.

But lately, the Princess of Disaster changed her chasing pattern and have been hunting him in the day.

"Kouichi, I bet you're tired from running away from me all the time. Come here, I won't hurt you..." She started to laugh evilly.

Kouichi ran faster.

And never noticed the ravine before him. His blue eyes widened and looked up where Fenrir watched him fall to his impending doom. She crouched and held her hand entwined with her dark hair.

Kouichi closed his eyes wishing that he could be somewhere else. A portal opened up and he fell through unknowingly into a new world as he heard Fenrir's irritated screech.

Then he blacked out as a girl voiced her surprise.

Yes, thats all I have for this chapter. I'm used to writing humor fics. Erm, yeah.

As for Kouichi, I got the name from Digimon Frontier. I love that name. And I couldn't think of a better name for a kid who looks like his mother yet doesn't know he controls the wind. Unless I name him Kaze, which means wind. And thats the only name besides Hayate that sort of means wind that I know of.

Next chapter would be coming in as soon as I get some free time. I have a research paper to do. Gah...
