Below the Stars

By Cindy Loves Jimmy

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Fenton/Phantom, Samantha Manson, or any of the other characters of Butch Hartman's. Heck, I don't own the whole show!

In Sam's POV..Please R&R if you kindly will. :)

It was a quiet night for a walk through Amity Park. Usually he'd find a ghost to fight, but for some reason there weren't any around. I was happy about it, because even though I have gotten used to him changing into his phantom side every now and then, I don't like seeing him fighting the ghosts all night. I get scared that he may get hurt one of these days.

We walked over to the swings and both of us sat down. Tucker probably would have been here too if it weren't for him catching the flu. I was actually grateful he had it. Some alone time with Danny was what I had been waiting on for a long time.

I started swinging just a little bit, enough for Danny to get out of his swing to push me ever-so gently. I smiled back at him and looked up at the sky to see the stars above us. They were as bright as ever, and it seemed almost romantic.

"Hey Danny, follow me, I want to show you something." I had taken an astronomy class at the local science center my junior year in highschool and learned a lot about the constellations. My favorite was Corona Borealis, because it was one of the most romantic constellation in the sky. I took Danny's hand and led him over to the grass right underneath the constellation.

"Lay down on the grass, you can see it much better. You see those stars, right up there? That's the constellation Corona Borealis. I learned about it in my astronomy class."

"Do you know the myth behind it? I mean, you took that class for a long time and they surely taught it to you."

"Sure, if you really want to hear it.." Danny shook his head, and I began telling it to him.

"Ariadne was the daughter of Minos, king of Crete. Each year, fourteen young people from Athens were delivered to Minos as a tribute and fed to the Minotaur, the monster that Minos kept in a labyrinth. When the young Athenian Theseus arrived, Ariadne fell in love with him. She offered to help him escape the Minotaur if he would promise to take her back to Athens as his bride. Theseus agreed. Ariadne kept her part of the bargain, and after Theseus killed the Minotaur, they sailed off. However, Theseus and the Athenians abandoned the sleeping Ariadne during a stop on an island. As she sat forlornly on the rocks, Dionysus (or Bacchus), the god of wine, came upon her and tried to comfort her. Overcome by her beauty, he asked her to marry him. She responded that she was disillusioned with mortal men and wished to be left alone. When he assured her that he was a god, she told him to prove it. Pleasantly he chuckled, and tossed the crown of gold he wore into the skies. There it hung, and one by one seven bright stars danced around it, until the whole band was shining over head. That is your wedding gift, he said, pulling it down. You are to wear it as an everlasting token of your beauty. When, after a long and happy life together, Ariadne died, Dionysus honored her by putting her crown among the stars."

After I told him the story, he just sat there, shocked that I told him every detail behind it.

"Wow Sam, that was amazing! I'm so glad Tucker is sick. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do this."

He took my hand and helped me to stand up. My heart was pounding hard against my chest, and my stomach was doing flip-flops.

"You know, that story of Ariadne, and Dionysus falling for her eternal beauty? Well, it's the same way with you and I Sam." He bent down on one knee, and I could have fainted. "I have fallen in love with you, and have been in love since we met, and I hope you feel the same way. Samantha Manson, will you marry me?" He pulled out a little black box out of his jacket pocket and opened it up, revealing a beautiful white diamond with two little Amethyst gemstones on the side.

"Yes, Daniel Fenton, I will marry you! And I love you, too!" I answered back. I was never happier in my life! I ran up to him and hugged him and kissed him, for the second time. I was finally going to be Mrs. Samantha Fenton, and it all started below the stars...

I got the myth about Corona Borealis from , so I don't take credit for it.. And I hope you enjoyed my story!
