Sometimes
Sometimes Iruka will think a lot.
Iruka will think of a lot of things, but mostly of things concerning him, and mostly of things that make him feel bad.
Sometimes Iruka will tend to forget what other people think of him, and will only remember the bad things that he sometimes will think of himself.
Sometimes will he compare himself to the people around him, even though he's been told not to do that, "because that doesn't matter..."
Sometimes Iruka will think that the people around him are much smarter than he is. He will think that they're more confident and more social as well...
He will think they're more considerate, more caring and much, much stronger than he is; that the people around him are more easy-going; more at ease with their daily life; that they've got more wits and guts and voice than he has.
And many of the people around him are just what he thinks they are. But not all... certainly not all, but sometimes Iruka won't remember that.
Sometimes Iruka will wonder what the people around him must think of him, these strong and confident people.
According to him they must think of him as unsocial, uninterested. Weak, timid, cowardly... boring.
His lover will never like it when he thinks like this. Iruka can and will misinterpret this quite often sometimes when he will be thinking again, and sometimes he will think his lover will leave him because of it. Because sometimes Iruka won't remember why they are lovers in the first place.
But then his lover will find him in their living room and sit next to him. His lover will gaze into his eyes, and tell him what he forgot.
"I don't like it when you think like that, because you stop remembering what I tell you every day; every morning before we part, every evening when we meet again.
You don't need to compare yourself with others, because that doesn't matter to me.
I didn't fall in love with any of the others; I fell in love with you, because of who you are.
When you start thinking like that sometimes, you forget what I tell you;
That you are Iruka, and that I love you."
Then Iruka will smile, and think that he has been a fool for forgetting again.
He will peck his lover's mouth that for once won't covered by a mask, before leading them to their bedroom, all the while keeping his smile.
He will do this every time.
End.
