Somebody Who Will Beat The Boys Away With A Stick
Disclaimer: Roswell is not mine. The truth hurts.
Category: Conventional Couples, Michael/Maria-centric, Alternate Universe partly
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: None really, but a knowledge of the first season would be good.
Premise: How difficult it is to grow up without accepting the other half of your identity? Twin daughters of an alien general know all too well the pain of growing up without their father. Just how far would they be willing to go to change their circumstances? About fifteen years back in time…
Summary: Michael left Maria and his friends for Antar. A lot of things have come to pass: Max and Liz, Alex and Isabel, Kyle and Tess now have families of their own. The FBI has eased up. Actually, everything seems perfect. Maria has accepted Michael’s departure and found happiness raising their daughters, identical twins Mikylea and Alexandria. However, the fourteen year-olds don’t find life as fatherless hybrids easy. Determined to do pretty much anything to change their fate, they go back in time to see their father’s younger self—and maybe convince him to stay.
Inspiration: I was inspired by the fanfic “Where Ships Graze The Sky” by Mnemosyne. I really felt for her character, Destiny, and got to thinking—hey, maybe she doesn’t have to build a rocket ship to meet her dad. Maybe if she used the granolith to travel back in time, he’d stay for her. This fic doesn’t really have a lot of similarities to that fic, but nevertheless, it was after reading that fic that I got to thinking of writing this one. To read that fic: )
Author’s Notes: To Michael’s credit, I DO believe that he would never, EVER leave Maria. Don’t we all know that already? This is merely an exploration of the topic.
